Can Villa supporters affect whether or not the club stays up in 2015-16? Do we actually make a difference? How? Or, are we basically passengers, powerless to change much if anything at all? I believe we have played our past over the last few seasons in keeping the team up despite some poor players and managers especially at the arse end of the season when the chips have been really down and it has been shit or bust. Last season against West Brom, West Ham and Everton spring to mind, the season before against Hull, and a couple of seasons ago against QPR and Sunderland.It can I think at times work the other way of course and we have seen supporters out of sheer frustration get on to the players backs or singing anti manager songs during the game and I have got to be honest I am yet to have ever seen that have a positive affect. At the end of the game then players and most certainly the manager are all fair game but whilst the game is taking place and there is still a sniff of a positive result then our role as supporters has to be to get behind them.In fairness this season despite a diabolical start the fans have been pretty good and there have been zero Sherwood out chants. I expect come full time against Swansea if we haven't won then there will be some vociferous anti Sherwood chanting but I'd hope, unless we are getting battered and are out of the game, that it is left till the full time whistle. I hope it doesn't come to that though and we do get a positive result. Certainly for my part I will be behind the team 100% as I am a supporter so it is what I am there to do. villa4europe Posted October 18, 2015 Share Posted October 18, 2015 the atmosphere is shite before the game even starts, theres a bit of holtenders, bit of villa villa, then it goes dead, remember when we sang paul mcgrath at the start of every game, when was the last time that happened?we're back to being where we were towards the end of lambert and ginger bollocks, resigned to a shit performance before the games even began, no one wants to be there, if season tickets didnt exist i doubt half of us would be, of course that resonates to the playerseven if you dont consider baggies a derby its still the best indication of how bad its got, remember the atmosphere for the 2 games in a week last season, compare that to the game last month, no one was up for it, no one cared, you can say "it was a nothing game for us" but then the question would be why is the atmosphere so bad for any game, especially considering the vast majority of league games are "nothing" games? apathy is killing us, on the pitch and off it, from top to bottom, no one at the villa cares anymore 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As soon as I saw the team I expected a loss. The team was set up for a point home to Stoke. How can anybody be enthusiastic enough to create a good atmosphere knowing that fact? The game starts and from the beginning Stoke dominate the ball and are through on goal after 10 minutes. To be honest as someone who gets to virtually all our home games its very difficult to get behind a side serving up complete dross week in week out. It all starts out positively but we rapidly decent into the usual farce of sideways passing and the perennial mistake of confusing possession with playing with any intent. The players seem to have no idea what they are supposed to be doing when they are clearly being told to adopt bizarre formations and tactics. Then we go a goal behind and we literally have no idea as to how to get back into the game. The crowd see all this and judge accordingly which is human nature, like it or notWe have won two home games this season; a laboured performance against a League 2 side where we came from behind (which was unusual and for once contradicts my point above!) and only really won because we were fitter as County literally ran out of steam and SHA where we laboured against a Championship side who were far more up for the game than us. We won the game in the second half when the lottery of Tactics Tim's substitutions for once came good. Even then neither game had my pulse racing as I doubt they did for most fans.
