I am finding it hard to keep up with the sence of urgency bieng shown by this club?board.

It's not easy signing players when you're bottom of the league and incredibly likely to get relegated.

Depends what players you are trying to sign. A few unknowns such as Kalinic for GK will be ok but, given the fact that we are likely to be relegated, I would hope that we are pushing for some quality Championship with high potential for next season. Obviously/hopefully, we should be targeting more of these players in the summer but I think it would be good for us to bring in this sort of player if we can.

I think we've shown some small signs that we can defend now, Okore, Lescott, Bunn seems to work and Cissokho and Debuchy if he signs or Bacuna should do a job.

but we still don't look like scoring more than one goal a game, we need centre forwards if we are to have any chance of at least going down with some kind of form/effort.

Foreign imports, young and hungry, free old pros. Spin the wheel.

I think we should go for young and hungry this window, it's been a while.

You're wrong.

We need a young and hungry player with Premier League experience who isn't lightweight but can shake things up in the squad.  Someone who does it for the love of the game rather than a fat salary and can help the younger lads while providing the goals needed to stay up.  Someone who can go again every game and give his all for Aston Villa as it will be his responsibility.  We are a big club, after all.

Anything new on the (very vague) Toulalan rumor?

Would be a massive upgrade on Westwood and a calming force to our midfield in a "Pirlo role" maybe.

Hard to see him leave Monaco for Birmingham thou...

West Ham linked with Sturridge. I know he's hardly fit but if Klopp doesn't like his attitude maybe the pull of his boyhood club and best mate being here could tempt him. Even if he was fit for half the games he'd end up our top scorer!!

Haven't they already got one striker who is never fit? This strikes me as a typical porno dwarf tactic of bidding for players you have no intention of purchasing.

Can anyone clarify how many domestic and international loans we can have? Remy and Debuchy on loan added to Kalinic on a perm would be a great start. Would that be our domestic ones done? What's the rules for foreign ones? It seems we are creating a lot of room in the 25!!

Chelsea apparently want Pato so that means even less time for Remy...

You may be onto something there

I thought it was a bit strange that Garde came out with the Remy thing at the time. He is not stupid, he must have sounded something out first. Maybe Chelsea said that it maybe possible so long as they get there additional signings in the window. Hiddink got annoyed cuz there was no guarantee of this. The supporters would also have been annoyed if Hiddink had said yes Remy may go on loan, when they hadn't signed anyone yet. Just speculating (wishful thinking) of course.

Remy off to Russia apparently. I cannot see him coming here, even if we weren't so far a drift.

What a waste. If he wants to be anywhere near the euros squad for France, playing in England and doing well would certainly help. Going to Russia where Rondon dominated won't really prove much.

I've a very bad feeling for this window. Just over ten days to go and we're still none the wiser what's happening. Half expected at least one in by now.

Can't see anyone that we need who would join us if another team came calling at this stage. The fact that Swansea are poaching signings says it all really.

All of the teams competing for survival have completed some of their business ages ago.

I don't think Didier Deschamps would give two **** if Remy scored 50 goals for us between now and the summer tbh.

France's striking options aren't that amazing right now. Benzema is out of the national team picture I believe, Griezmann is doing fantastically, Lacazette is doing okay, then it's really a toss up between Giroud, Martial, and Remy.
