Each appointment has been progressively worse in the last 5 years and I genuinely do believe Sherwood is worse than lambert, we've scrapped the barrel. I honestly do not know who we could attract right now , i seriously doubt allardyce would even be interested in working under Lerner.

I posted this on Twitter before I saw this thread. These are the most notable free-agent managers I saw when browsing the list on Transfermarkt:

- Lucien Favre

- Remi Garde

- Roberto Di Matteo

- Murat Yakin

- Vincenzo Montella

- Jens Keller

- Bernd Schuster

- Sam Allardyce

- Paulo Bento

Favre would be the dream but unlikely to take the job, Montella also for that matter. Garde could be a decent fit with our French connection and all. Sure, Allardyce is the solid realist option but I think we can (and should) be aiming for better.

Allardyce please. We need someone safe.

Maybe try the non-British route for once?

Aitor Karanka at Boro must have learned a bit from Mourinho while they were at Real. He's been doing some good things with Middlesbrough, although I don't really know much about him. Anybody think he could be a candidate?

Eduardo Berizzo at Celta Vigo, maybe the money in the Premier League could tempt him? No way though in reality.

Vincenzo Montella is unemployed after being sacked at Fiorentina, despite them finishing fourth. Could be tempted.
