So rowlett claims he git our team before hand and they still failed to beat us

That was their best chance. Injuries to key players poor form, while they are on form and they still couldn't beat us

The city is and always will be ours you unwashed bloserS

I always park under the motorway bridge a bit further down from The Yew Tree pub. Walked up on my own towards the ground and was very fortunate to time it just right to get infront of the kettled blues fans being held at Witton before being escorted to the ground. The police had left room for Villa fans to pass them on the other side of the road. I feel for you Stevo if you were amongst that lot, against your will.

Was astounded, like others to have left the ground promptly (final whistle blew as I was at the bottom of the Holte End steps) only to find the fencing up blocking access towards Witton where the away fans were. Having walked back around the ground and down a side road to the Tesco roundabout we then discovered the other police cordon blocking access to Witton Road. At this point they still hadn't let the Blues fans out, I can understand wanting to keep rival fans from clashing on the station platform but it was disgusting that they couldn't split access to the station off whilst still allowing fans access to Witton Lane to retrieve cars!

Had no choice but to walk up Aston Lane past Tesco, up to Perry Barr dog track and walk through the unlit Holford Industrial estate to loop back to the top end of Witton Lane. No stewards or police in place at any stage of this journey to provide directions or security. I dread to think of the potential for violence if a load of noses had congregated on that industrial estate in wait. There were elderly and young children doing that walk which was completely unneccessary. All police had to do was advise home fans that access to Witton station and Witton Lane would be restricted after the game and people could have planned accordingly.

Yep.

I brought my mom to a game last year. Had I brought her to this one (not that I'd ever bring my mother to a SAH derby, but bear with me) she'd have had to have done that huge walk to get to the station.

As you said, it was ridiculous when they hadn't even let the Blues fans out yet. I was stepping into the concourse as the final whistle went so we must have been some of the first people out who didn't leave early. If the blues fans hadn't been left out yet, why not let the villa fans get to the station?

I can understand the cordon once the blues fans were out.

It really annoyed me. If the "loop" had been short then it would have been ok. But like I said above, going by google maps I'd say it was at least 2.5 miles.

The last time we were at the Sty, they let the filth out and gave loads of time for them to make their way out and kept us locked in, and the scumbags all just congregated outside and waited, throwing stuff at us, so I can understand the police trying to create a separate route out for them. Should definitely have been announced in advance so people could plan around it though.

But why not let us through to the station whilst the blues fans were still in the ground?

And was it really necessary to make our route two and a half miles long?

Well that's a surprise, Local Plod saying the night went off without incident yet a Villa fan just called WM and said a mob of at least 60 knuckledraggers smashed up the Manor Tavern.

Someone's telling porkies.

yeah i heard 100 blues attacked it with about 30 villa inside, heard they had baseball bats. typical blues, they know no faces are going to be in there.

we nearly got stranded as we could not go to witton station so walked to perry barr not knowing that the train we wanted to get from witton did not stop at perry barr and had to wait until 10.50 for the train which only went to walsall, and then we found out we had to wait until 11.50 for the train at walsall which infact was cancelled and a replacement bus was put on which only went to hednesford so that would of meant taxis from hednesford to rugeley at about 1 in the morning. bloody nightmare so in the end we got taxis back from walsall and got in for just after 12.

Abysmal first half. Really bad. Second half as soon as we started to keep it on the floor and play some football we dominated. Grealish made the difference along with Ayew who was very impressive. Overall Small heath were flattered by the scoreline. I really did underestimate how shit they are.

I guess if the police had told us that access to Witton station & Witton Lane was to be restricted then Bloose fans could have made plans as well as us.

But preventing Villa fans getting to the station and up Witton Lane so Bloose fans could get away was beyond reason. I have heard the police say in the past that keeping fans in the ground after a game could be seen to infringe their human rights. Does the same not apply to preventing a large number of Villa fans having access to Witton Lane so that a much smaller number of Bloose fans can get there?

There were enough police on duty to have escorted Bloose fans to the station 20 minutes after the game and to clear anyone who was still waiting around to wish them well post game away from the stadium.

I note the Witton pub was also only available to away fans again...

If you'd like a laugh check out the Birmingham Mail site, it's chocked full of articles about how Blues were great and Villa were shit, and also that Blues have no money and don't have as good players as we do and that's why we won because Blues are really quite terrible but they were great and showed they could go toe to toe against a Premier League team who are worse than some of the Chamionship aides they've been torn apart by this season. Excuses. In coming to terms with the death of their horrible club, they're perennial bargainers. And they always have to shout it off the rooftops too.

The best is a Birmingham Mail 'blogger' claiming that all Villa fans drive 4x4s and live in Lichfield and 'deeper Staffordshire', where as Blues fans soak up the atmosphere of the city in the week. For the life of me I cannot figure out what that is supposed to mean.

Was annoyed at not being allowed to go along the road to get to my car at The Yew Tree for ages - the Blooz fans had to be let out first - and yet when we go to the Sty (or Albion) it is US the away fans that get penned in (at Blooz) and diverted for miles at Albion (and Wolves) - so why was it the Home fans who were inconvenienced this time?

Because the police are dickheads! Just a thought.

Same old moronic criticism from blues fans, we have a huge fan base outside of the city...it's called being a much bigger club...

Every single blues fan I saw yesterday came out with the same old rubbish. Our team was worth millions while theirs was worth 'did you know, JUST 50k, so how is a team worth that supposed to compete?'

I politely reminded them that if that was the case they should never have bothered turning up forfeited the game.

They really are morons.

They won't stop bleating about it.

I'd say Carlisle United have a genuine reason to be proud after their performance last night but not small heath after their inept display at VP.

Was horrendous, I had to do that walk too, on a walking stick with a knackered back. I sort of knew the train wouldnt stop at Perry barr as Witton station have to request that train to stop as its thats fast one to Walsall & then on the Rugeley. Total feck up thanks to WMP.
