0 limpid Posted September 10, 2015 Administrator Share Posted September 10, 2015 Just to be clear, we are talking about this button: Those affected, are you not seeing it at all on any device? If not, how did you know it was missing? If you are seeing it on some devices and not others, I need to know which are which. Sorry, but I have no idea with this one at all. Link to comment
0 Tegis Posted September 10, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted September 10, 2015 Still gone on all devices and networks with cache cleared and incognito tested Just to be clear, we are talking about this button: Yep, thats tha one. Those affected, are you not seeing it at all on any device? If not, how did you know it was missing? If you are seeing it on some devices and not others, I need to know which are which. Sorry, but I have no idea with this one at all. I was looking for the old sites "switch" for plain text and bb-code and couldn't find anything similar. Then I saw BOF posting a screenshot of the Source-button when he asked about formatting issues. I've never seen it on this login. 2 Link to comment
0 snowychap
Yep, it is that button. I only access via PC. I was made aware of the button by BOF's post in one of the other threads in this subforum (formatting issues, I think). Apologies for being difficult! Link to comment
0 Tegis Posted September 10, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) I created a new account (source-button) just to check if my old account is iffy. The problem is there in the new account as well when I try to post in the welcome forum. So not a account-specific problem Edited September 10, 2015 by Tegis Link to comment
0 limpid Posted September 10, 2015 Administrator Share Posted September 10, 2015 Can you try incognito mode (or private browsing or whatever) in one of your browsers please? Link to comment
0 limpid Posted September 10, 2015 Administrator Share Posted September 10, 2015 Ah. I think I realise what the problem is. Only admins/mods can post HTML. You only get access to that button if you can post HTML.Sorry. 1 Link to comment

0 Stevo985 Posted September 10, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted September 10, 2015 The only time I can see this being an issue personally is quotes.I'm finding it extremely difficult to edit quotes with the new site. On the old one I'd use the source button to do it "manually" (for want of a better word)Without that option now it seems very hard, although I fully admit I may just be doing something wrong! 0 snowychap
The editor is ckeditor.com - they may have more information.Cheers. Just had a look and this page would appear to be the user guide for CKEditor 3.Not sure how much help that user guide is but redo and undo can be accessed by shortcuts (i.e. ctrl+y/ctrl+z), for example. 0 leviramsey Posted September 13, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted September 13, 2015 A little experimentation shows that if Javascript is disabled, any user can post at least some restricted subset of HTML (tested to work: bold, italic, link, image; tested not to work: tables, blockquotes), so it's not the editor which is enforcing HTML restrictions (which is good news in about eleventy-billion ways). 1 Link to comment
