villakram Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I just stumbled across this. A trial run whereby players will be given a green card for sporting behavior in Serie B this season.Seems a bit pointless to me, although it is an admirable idea in principle. Would be pretty cool if you could earn one of these and then geta freebie at someone, e.g., Rooney.http://www.msn.com/en-ie/sport/serie-a/serie-b-introduces-green-cards-to-promote-good-behaviour-fair-play-and-sportsmanship/ar-AAdXfHF?ocid=mailsignoutmd
chappy Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Heard about this, would rather the time spent giving a green card was used for video replays of big decisions like an offside call, we've seen in cricket and tennis how quick the calls can be made
Stevo985 Posted September 5, 2015 VT Supporter Posted September 5, 2015 If refs were better at punishing UN-sporting behaviour then they wouldn't need this.
ThunderPower_14 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 This is fine, but the incentive to get one is basically non-existent at the moment. Make them count as a negative yellow in terms of suspensions etc, and we'd be talking. You've got your 5 yellows, but you're not suspended yet because you picked up 2 greens along the way.
kurtsimonw Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Just bring in more video replay to get big decisions right. The sooner we Americanise the sport, the better. Take it out of the hands of the morons in the middle.

villa89 Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Better off suspending players for five games who can be seen diving on a video review. What exactly constutes sporting behaviour? 1
villa4europe Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Agree, retrospective punishment is the obvious answer to me but the powers that be are more interested in stuff like green cards and sin bins
