He is never going to be the silky skilled striker, but he needs to apply himself to suit what he does best....physically impose himself. He needs to bully the centre Halves and bring in the the other forwards with less physical prowess. He is picked for a particular reason.....He needs to live up to that. Agree with you totally TRO but he's what? 28? if he hasn't mastered basic stuff like this by his age, I'd say he never will.
Demitri_C 12,593
His confidence looks shot to pieces that chance at the end was pretty poor. Think summer we should cut our losses with him

dont_do_it_doug. 18,311
Honestly, why on earth Pulis thinks that's a good idea god only knows. He's nowhere near good enough for a mid table premier league side. Can't control, can't hold it up, can't pass, can't shoot. Will win the occasional header, which will normally go to the opposition. Will score the occasional goal with his head, but when was the last time you saw him attack anything in the box with conviction? I'll be astounded if it happens, particularly if we get actual money for him.

Gestede will fit really well into Pulis's 10-0-1 formation haha Edited December 20, 2016 by Villan_of_oz
Craigy1874 141
All joking aside, I can see Gestede fitting into the west brom team. They will supply crosses for him, whereas we don't so he is pointless in our team.
villa89 3,278
£7m? No chance anyone is mad enough to pay that for him.

vreitti 1,349
Gestede seems like a perfect fit for Pulis, and the way his team play. I also happen to believe we too still could have some use for Gestede, but then again I'm not against a better replacement, which shouldn't be all that hard to find.
a m ole 6,407
Pulis obviously concered that with Rondon they're scoring too many goals.
DCJonah 14,867
Would be a massive success if we could get £7 million for him.
Dr_Pangloss 14,012
He's a very poor player and I'm surprised a Premier League side is after him. I know Pulis loves a long ball game but Gestede is really poor at holding it up, I doubt he'll achieve much there.
Richard 7,557
If be amazed if we get anything above 2m for him it would be astonishing business.
VT Supporter HanoiVillan 20,934 Posted December 20, 2016 VT Supporter Report Share Posted December 20, 2016 The thing is, he'll probably thrive on those excellent crosses that Phillips puts in. He'll be a back-up for Rondon, and is not totally dissimilar, although obviously inferior.
rodders0223 13,824
An example to all young footballers that you don't need talent to succeed in the game...or to work hard. Untalented, didn't put himself about, didn't give defenders nightmares. Didn't do anything really.

KSV 3,105
They cross the ball well. Gestede would score goals for them. As a back up he wouldn't be too bad for them.
The Fun Factory 4,032
I like the guy and it would be a shame if he left. He hasn't pulled up any trees but has a good attitude- unlike some of the players last season. At least he had the decency to go to the fans at the end of the season at Arsenal.
