PaulC
Yes Root is a bit special. I took time to warm to him but he could end up being the best batsman since Dennis Compton, Wally Hammond.. Any of the greats. Still only 24 as well. We have players at Warwickshire who still haven't made it in the first team at that age.
Dodgyknees
It's his ability to take on any shot and make it look effortless, but to also have something we don't usually get with an England batsman - the ability to bounce back.
PaulC
No weaknesses to his game and mentally very tough.
villarule123 Posted August 6, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted August 6, 2015 I'm willing to say that we have won the Ashes now. No chance of anything other than a win now.

Avfc96
I've never been so happy to be proved wrong, England have been superb bar Lords. Just look at the difference between this team and the one that managed to draw a series in the Windies. Both times we have got rid of Moores, we have gone onto win the Ashes series in the summer. We wasted a year with that clearing in the woods in charge, we could have been so much better and had a much better World Cup aswell. Lyth and Bell will need scores at the Oval. Come on England! PaulC
Stupid bringing in a night watchman when you over 200 runs ahead.
villarule123 Posted August 6, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted August 6, 2015 Wood can bat though. I don't think anything can be classed as stupid now, it's probably the greatest day of English cricket I've seen in my lifetime. Everything has gone perfectly.

dAVe80
Stupid bringing in a night watchman when you over 200 runs ahead. Said the same thing to my mate. What's the point?!
Rodders
if Stokes doesn't fancy it maybe? Not a bad decision really in my view - it doesn't matter really. Might as well have Stokes in for the full day of carnage tomorrow

PongRiddims
A superb days cricket. Listening to TMS in the office today, punching the air and whooping every time another wicket fell, one of the best days!

MrDuck
Well I don't think I've ever enjoyed a session of cricket quite as much as that first one, remarkable Australia as woeful as England were brilliant. It's like none of them have ever faced seam/swing before.
