Quite funny seeing Everton go from getting linked with players like Juan Mata to now picking up players from one of the worst teams in Premier League history. I thought they were supposed to be the real deal now, with this new owner?

We can hate all we want but at the end of the day THEY are in the PREMIER LEAGUE poaching one of our better players and there is nowt we can do about it. It is of zero consequence who they are/were supposed to be linked with as we have no idea of their transfer plans and/or why they are after him. He is at very least a good squad player to have for most teams. There is lots of evidence to show good players can exist in "bad" teams.

Definitely better. Putting all hate aside I don't see how anyone could rate Gana (especially after the season he just had) anywhere near Delph's level in his last couple of season's with us - he was superb.

I like Gana a lot and hope he stays with us.

I despise snake for the way he treated this club last summer.

But I have to agree

Bit unfair to compare the two tbh. Gana only joined us 12 months ago and never played in England before. Granted he didn't exactly set the league on fire, but it was only his first English season.

I bet nearly all of those were short passes to Westwood or back to defence

So? His job is to win the ball and play a simple pass and he does that very effectively.

I didn't say he's vital anywhere though - just that he didn't do "**** all". If he's truly that shit, he doesn't go to Everton.

just a little hyperbole, I think he was inneffectual for us. didn't add anything going forward and despite the stats didn't couldn't prevent us from leaking goals. not truly shit. just not at all concerned about him leaving.

with a player who only seems to be very good at intercepting the ball, he's highly specialised. In the championship we don't need a specialist in that position, we need someone who can do that job and also contribute goals and assists.

if he can be that specialist at Everton then it might be a mutually beneficial deal for everyone concerned.

There is a chance he may be better in his second season in the UK, but I'm not that worried about loosing him.  We played most of last season with him as part of a 3 man central mid partnership and teams could stroll through us like no one was there at all.  Any combination of Gana, Westwood, Veretout and Sanchez ended up playing like muck and we could sell them all without me giving a stuff.

Obviously he needs replacing as he did at least manage to be a warm body in a shirt last season, but I'm happy enough to take a punt on the unknown that slog through more of the same.

At the start of the season I genuinely thought he was much better than Delph, but definitely declined as the season went on, he will do well at Everton

I'm genuinely surprised by how many people on here seem not to rate him. Disappointed that it looks like we will lose him, but he's too good for the championship. An absolute steal for £7m.

I'm amazed people rate him so highly. He's not a terrible player but did nothing for us and doesn't want to be here. He's not a loss.

It's funny how people see different things. I'm a season ticket holder so I watched him every week (not saying that makes me opinion more valid though) and thought he ranged from on overly aggressive (as in dangerous) to sloppy and lacking awareness. The stat of him intercepting loads feels skewed - how is it worked out? Did it count every time he lost the ball and then tackled them back? That'd count for about half! Then it'd also take in to account the fact our midfield was constantly being attacked, is it pure numbers?

The stats can say whatever you want but, in my opinion, he was a liability most of the time. He offered nothing going forward, was sloppy and seemed lost a lot of the time. I think midfielders especially can influence a game far more than most however bad you are as a team - an amazing striker in a rubbish team might get cut off but a midfielder should be taking a game by the scruff of the neck and I never saw Gana do that. He's better than Sanchez, he's better than Veretout perhaps. Doesn't mean he's good. I don't think he'll achieve anything in the Premier League, whichever team he's at.

Not desperate for him to go like some but couldn't care less he may well be.

He is obviously a very talented player and I do think he could go on to play for a top 6 club in the PL, but I really wasn't impressed with his attitude last season. Not bothered either way.

The interception stat doesn't show the whole picture. Is he amazing at it or is he ok at it and plays for a team that is always under pressure and being played through?

I saw with my eyes he did absolutely nothing to make us a better team when he played.

You're saying Gueye over Drinkwater, Mendy, WIlshere, Ramsey, Dier, Alli, Toure, Fernandinho, Schwiensteiger, and potentially Pogba?
