For me, he will always remind me of the time we we're rock bottom as a club. Totally agree. He was symptomatic of everything that stunk about the club and had done for some time. He was the zenith of signing players with ‘proven pedigree’ at the expense of common sense. And, still, we hear pundits who claim that this is the only route to success. One of the things I enjoy atm is that we’ve moved drastically away from this model of business. If that’s Michah’s cankered legacy, then so be it.
Jimzk5
One thing I don't understand is why the club never said why he wasn't playing, I know both Bruce and Smith said he was on a special training programme but why not say micah isn't fit to play because his knees were shattered

Too bad the company wouldn't extend you the same courtesy if the roles were reversed. There's no good will when livelihood and money is involved. Mark Albrighton Posted July 31, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted July 31, 2019 I’d like to think if it was me, I’d try reach a fair settlement with the club. Take 50% to leave early or something akin to that. But of course we don’t know his financial position, the extra couple of years worth of wages could be the difference in preventing a David James style bankruptcy situation for all we know.

If you take a day sick off work, do you call the manager to deduct that off your wages? If not, what is the difference?

I said up the thread, but I'm sure there was a story or interview with Richards where he said he did try to leave the club last summer but that because of the insurance payout it was actually better for the club for him to see out his contract. Again I can't remember the source or whether it's bollocks or not but I'm sure I didn't dream it

Turned up every day but obviously couldn't run for **** without having his knees replaced. Apparently the club had him helping out with coaching the kids and right up til his release was seen as a really nice guy around the place. Just that he was basically more **** in his knees than Miley Cyrus at a glory hole. Jolean lescott thought, there's a c unit for you.

Me too, when I left my last job I handed them a cheque for all those days I just didn't fancy working that much, I guesstimated my hours spent on VT and reimbursed them. Adjusted for inflation of course.
NeilS
Richards lands job on MotD Micah Richards has been unveiled among a host of new pundits that will be working for BBC Football and Match of the Day next season. The former defender brought to an end a four-year spell at Aston Villa at the end of last season and consequently announced his retirement after an injury ravaged few years robbed him of a significant chunk of his playing career. The former Manchester City star, though, will be remaining in football - and Villa fans will be seeing him on the Beeb on Saturday and Sunday nights in the new season. Great, I cannot wait! Just when i was looking forward to watching MotD again, up pops Micah to remind us of the dark days of the last few years! I am still scarred by those defensive displays. Oh well, at least he isn't playing for us I guess...small mercies and all that.
