praisedmambo
So Bruce said everyone is fit except for Kodija. Does that mean Richards is fit then? How can we not find somewhere to send him on loan. He's tailor-made for American recruitment.

American football wants to raise it's standards not fill limited import spots with the likes of Richards. I like the fact that you mention a loan deal though, we're never going to play him, so why not have someone subsidise part of his wage and allow his career to continue at the same time. Richards doesn't seem to have a bad attitude, so I don't know on this one. I don't rate his footballing abilities so maybe it is a case of no one wanting to give him a try. rodders0223
MLS are now signing international players with plenty of miles left in the tank....and when they do sign old professionals past their best they are usually world cup winners, CL winners and highly marketable footballers. People need to get away from this notion that MLS will just spunk designated player contracts on any old knacker.

Also the quality of their home grown talent is improving as the game gains popularity and colleges and universities begin to invest heavily in training/competing. I follow a lot of baseball fans on Twitter and I'd say 50/60% of them are also in to soccer, not too far off the percentage also in to football. If America gets its act together they will be a force within the decade.

Popular Post TheAuthority Posted March 1, 2018 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted March 1, 2018 Quote To those who argue Richards should have left the club before now, Sportsmail can reveal that Roberto Di Matteo's intervention blocked a move to West Ham in the summer of 2016. West Ham were willing to pay Richards double his relegation-slashed wage for a season-long loan with a view to a permanent move, but Villa's then manager wanted him as back-up for Elphick and Nathan Baker. That now looks a costly call for all involved. The article couldn't be more pro-Micah and it's slanted to his favor bordering on the ridiculous. You couldn't have written more of a puff-piece. They actually try to blame the fans in the quote below for the fact that he might not be getting a look in. Quote City moved on as a club but Tim Sherwood certainly saw Richards' value when securing his signing on a free transfer in summer 2015. Confidence came from an opening day 1-0 win at Bournemouth. A desperate relegation followed, however, and some Villa fans still associate that hurt with Richards, who was made captain following the departure of Fabian Delph to City. In fairness, there were much more culpable villains than he that campaign. He was shit in the 3 seasons before Sherwood and the idiots who ran the club at the time signed him, and he was shit in the relegation season. He was shit since then and is still shit. He's shit. Sorry if that sounds mean spirited but that article needs to be redressed. What a joke that rag is. 5
