Tapatalk - decommissioning

In the next few weeks VillaTalk will be upgraded to IP.Board 4.0. This brings many improvements. However, the cluster it is hosted on does not allow me to upload the extension software needed for Tapatalk.

 

I've approached Tapatalk support who haven't managed to reply to my request for assistance.

 

It is likely that at some point in the near future, tapatalk will stop working for an unknown period of time. I can only apologize.

 

More updates in this thread (please follow the thread if you are interested).

It looks like Tapatalk are not going to fix this.

 

I'll probably turn off tapatalk this weekend so that I don't have to deal with questions about it at the same time as questions about the new forum software. Seeing as just three people are following this thread I think there will be a lot of surprised users.

It'll survive a little longer. I'm hoping I'll get a week's notice before the new site software goes in, so I'll disable tapatalk a week before.

Shame. They've just got it to a place where its functional and a bit more intuitive.

I've switched to the mobile skin in preparation for the change, and boy, do I now appreciate Tapatalk.

I'm assuming the mobile skin will be upgraded along with the rest of the site.

Tried to use Tapatalk a few times but found it nowhere near as user friendly as the mobile version in Chrome. Always wondered if many people used it

It's Tapatalk's choice

 

They won't provide a version which can be installed via the site software, you have to have ftp access and we won't have that with the new software.

You can do this from the 'new content' section - the latest post has a hotlinked date & time. Doesn't seem to have this from the regular menus (e.g. Off Topic, etc.)
