Popular Post blandy Posted May 18, 2015 Moderator Popular Post Posted May 18, 2015 I know people don't normally run onto the pitch at the last game, but in the light of the strong warning to the Club from the FA and the big fine the club got, it's obviously to our benefit as fans to make sure no one does go on the pitch at the end of the game. Apart from stopping any pre-FA cup final lap by the players that might take place, the consequences could be bad for us fans from the FA. It feels a bit dumb posting this, as people aren't likely to do it anyway, but I know the Club are desperate for us all to behave as we usually do and just support the team and spread the good reputation of ourselves and the Club. 13
Zatman Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 hope it doesnt happen but would a Premier League game actually fall under the FA rules though?
limpid Posted May 18, 2015 Administrator Posted May 18, 2015 FA Premier League, isn't it? Yes, exactly this. We resigned from the Football League when we joined the FAPL.
Mantis Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 The thought hadn't even crossed my mind until I saw this thread. Does it even need a warning?
darrenm Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Yes, it really does. Unfortunately this message probably won't make any difference to anyone considering it anyway. I'd imagine there'll be quite a few stewards at the end of the game.
supernova26 Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) We were fined due to poor stewarding which allowed encroaching BEFORE full-time. Coming onto the pitch AFTER the final whistle whilst frowned-upon by the H&S brigade and technically not allowed happens ALL the time across the leagues without 200k fines being handed out Were we fined for the Blackburn match, for example? Man up! Edited May 18, 2015 by supernova26 1
Demitri_C Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 If it came down to final game and we stayed up then we might be at risk, but now its a pointless game so im hopeful it wont happen 1
mattyvilla Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Think we have had different stewards for the last few games as well , maybe imposed on the club
limpid Posted May 18, 2015 Administrator Posted May 18, 2015 Think we have had different stewards for the last few games as well , maybe imposed on the club There may have been extra stewards, the old ones were still there.
Rugeley Villa Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 unreal that clubs like millwall still get into trouble at a lot of games but kind of get off the hook to a degree and us who are by no means angels but generally are well behaved get a huge fine and bad media spotlight.
limpid Posted May 18, 2015 Administrator Posted May 18, 2015 Please use the other thread to talk about the penalty the club received and why. That's not what this thread is for.
mattyvilla Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Yes the old ones are there , there is now also a private security company

I'd imagine there'll be quite a few stewards at the end of the game. What are the actual chances of it? Very low I'd say. When was the last time there was a pitch invasion at VP on the final day of the season?
VillaChris Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Can't remember the last time in the final home game fans actually came onto the pitch, Coventry 2001 perhaps?

Man up!After the heavy warning the club received from the FA, it would be crazy to invade the pitch after the Burnley game in the belief that post-match pitch invasions somehow don't count. unreal that clubs like millwall still get into trouble at a lot of games but kind of get off the hook to a degree and us who are by no means angels but generally are well behaved get a huge fine and bad media spotlight. And nurturing a victim culture isn't helping either. Harry Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) I would like to think we don't have any fans stupid enough......oh hang on. Edited May 18, 2015 by Harry
Harry Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) Just pretend we are Bournemouth fans and nobody will mind....it will just be deemed exuberance. Edited May 18, 2015 by Harry
John Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I think the club need to make it clear that fans need to stay off the pitch before the game and at half time or face bans. They also need more stewards at the potential points that fans might come on (including the away end). I hope we do not need to give out such warnings but better safe than sorry.
Butterfingers Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Don't think anyone will. No harm reiterating the implications though 1
