David-Copenhagen
Wages is one thing. Sign on fees another. AFAIK they all fall under the same umbrella, ie: payments to staff I don't think it matters whether it's basic, bonus or signing on fee, it's all counted the same Makes no sense if that is true. As long as there is an extension of the contract it is no different to buying a new player. In effect we are buying Benteke for 1-2 years more. Zatman
in summer I can see Bent, Herd, Tonev, Stevens, Luna leaving, maybe Steer and Sylla too. Vlaar might get a new deal Think Helenius might get a chance here

Zatman
forgot Weimann, dont think Given is going anywhere though. on a big deal and has a lot of experience as well. Could see him getting a coach job here when his current deal is up

snowychap
I believe signing on fees are spread over the contractIn which case they wouldn't be wage costs (if they're being capitalized and depreciated over the life of the new contract). Folski
Massive culling of the wage budget at the moment: 85k - Bent 55k - Benteke 50k - Given 50k - Cleverley 35k - Vlaar 35k - Weimann 25k - Lowton 15k - Helenius 10k - Luna 10k - Sylla === 370k per week. 60k - Richards 35k - Gueye === 95k

Folski
Weimann was on around £17,500 if figures are to be believed. Think he was on 15k before he signed a new deal 2 seasons back after scoring 12 goals in Lambert's first season and rejected a contract offer as it was only a small increase and didn't reflect his importance at the time to the team, anyway there's no way all the figures are right but either way we've cut a nice bit of salary
CrackpotForeigner
Almost certainly enough to pay three good players, anyway.

So around £14m a year reduction as it currently stands, should about cover Adebayor

So around £14m a year reduction as it currently stands, should about cover Adebayor 10 players out who contributed very little, with the scope to bring 6 very, very good players in at the same cost on the wage bill. That's what I call wiggle room!
VILLAMARV
Stevens and Herd, however insignificant, are also off the wage bill.
