VillaChris
"maybe the board are to blame." Hull fans despise the Allam family for way they've run things last few years. I think protests will start up again now which will hit any Hull promotion bid. They started last season with about 11 senior players I think, I was surprised they got as many points as they did. VillaAlex
Agreed ^^ Have to say I am quite surprised he took this job. Not a club that takes their time with managers, and he probably could have got a much better position if he had waited. I guess he wanted a job quickly so he could have a full season in the league with pre-season. I am also presuming the turnover of players at Watford was an attractive option for him, as he could rebuild the squad like he did at Hull. Would not be surprised to see him resign Grosicki and Ranocchia.
Kingman
So a few weeks on from turning down £8.5m in compo for Silva from Everton, Watford are now looking for a 9th manager in 6 seasons.
HanoiVillan
They should have let him go to Everton, but I can't say I blame them for sacking him. He was obviously making eyes at other clubs, and their form is abysmal. It's all very well being 'ambitious' and 'upwardly-mobile' but it only works while the results are at least decent. They could still get relegated this season.
VillaChris
Looking at page 1 of this thread is amusng.....hoping Watford will come up and play decent football and rather have them than turd teams like Hull who contribute nothing to the premier league. I wonder who the Hull manager was then?

Dr_Pangloss
I still think he's a very good manager, at 10th in the league you'd wonder what Watford can really expect, although they are only 5 points off the relegation zone and in poor form. Everton killed their momentum but his response throughout was pretty awful and amounted to a shoulder shrug when asked if he was leaving.
LakotaDakota
New manager already appointed. Javi Gracia. Former Malaga & Rubin Kazan manager. Presume it was already lined up if he has been appointed within hours and they change manager every season anyway

Popular Post Villan4Life
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6026625/Watford-unveil-statue-former-boss-Graham-Taylor-outside-Vicarage-Road.html Quote Watford paid a classy tribute to Graham Taylor ahead of their final pre-season friendly against Sampdoria on Saturday. The Hornets unveiled a statue of their former boss, who died in January last year from a heart attack, outside Vicarage Road prior to kick-off on the weekend. Watford unveiled the sculpture outside their megastore and supporters turned out in their numbers to catch a first glimpse of the art work. Taylor managed twice at Vicarage Road - enjoying a 10-year stint between 1977-1987 and again for another five years between 1996-2001 - and was dubbed the club's 'greatest ever manager'. As quoted by the Watford Observer, club chairman and CEO Scott Duxbury said: 'As chairman of the football club it was my privilege to commission the statue to honour Watford's greatest ever manager, a phrase that has so often been used following Graham's ill-timed passing. 'Of course the history books show that Graham was Watford's greatest ever manager – the promotions, the victories, the trophies. But Graham's legacy is far more than this.' He added: 'Yes, today is about a statue to honour Watford's greatest ever manager but for all of us the statue is so much more. It's to ensure and acknowledge whilst we've loss a friend, he will never be forgotten.' Watford fans not in attendance against Sampdoria can witness the statue first-hand when they take on Brighton in their opening Premier League game next Saturday. sne
Really miffed we didn't try for Ken Sema during the last 2 years. No doubt in my mind we could have got him. Now he went to Watford for £3m, a steal. Apparently he's won every medical test during pre season. pace, strength, jumping reach... He's not going to dominate in the PL, not even close. But he is going to make life difficult for a lot of defenders when he plays. He's basically Adama Traore but with a brain. And he cost £3m. VillaChris
Pereryra had a brilliant start to the season, really enjoyed watching him play so far. This is more attractive Watford than in recent years. That said they'll probably get to 40 points in March and then not win a game for rest of season.
