He wasn't fantastic and should've done better with his chance in the first half but he was up against 2 giant defenders and all we done was lump it long to him. Didn't play to his strengths at all.

He didn't help himself, was a very inexperience performance.

We don't play to strikers of his ilks strength, we know that, but he didn't help himself. Constantly trying too much, trying to outrun people, out muscle people when it never really was on.
Would have served him better to just try and work himself into the game and move the ball.

Agreed - but that should reduce his impact - not snuff it out all together. I am sure he would look better in a good team performance - but whether that 'better' is good enough to be a regular starter is doubtful IMO.

So good to see yet another youngster getting written off early into his Villa career...

Or not.

You have to earn the chance though. Typically youngsters get by on adrenaline  for few games - the real test comes after that- Ive not seen a sparkle from this lad TBH.

Very poor performance.

I get the whole not playing to his strengths, but when he did get on the ball - he did nothing.

He had a chance to cut it back, and it was a really poor pass.

He scuffed a good chance.

He never held the ball at all.

Then when he got the chance to do what he's supposedly good at, he got thrashed for pace by that D'Almeida guy.

Not writing him off -just todays performance how I saw it.

He was feeding of scraps as lee hendrie correctly said, the majority of the balls into him were falling 100 foot out the air then he was having to compete with two big lower league defenders which is probably there bread and butter. A wasted exercise for rhm, baffles me how bruce and his staff thought that would work

The staff have not managed him properly imo.

The boy is nearly 20 and has hardly played first team football.

He should be going out on loan.

He is lacking a lot of experience for first team football.

He could bang 50 goals for the under 23's it still won't make him a better player.

He needs to play non-league or league two football and graft it out.

Another one who should be going on loan, rather than getting 15 minute scraps here and there, which is a recipe for him racking up minutes without actually getting chances to score. He needs to prove that he can score outside of juniors football, and we need to loan another striker who is going to be capable of contributing immediately.

Not sure what he was expected to do out there tonight isolated against 2 CB's fighting to catch impossible passes.

At least he learnt how Hogan must have felt during his first season with us.

Agree to a point. The trouble is, he did get the ball, and opportunities, at times, and when he did he was awful.

Everyone calling for him to go out on loan - he's our only other fit striker!

I doubt either of them are 100% fit either at this stage.

Thought he was alright tonight. Not great, not awful. No service.
