It's either dangerous play or it isn't. I do think the ref bodged it but I think the reason for his indecision in giving a yellow was that he was acting on the say so of his linesman. He was caught in two minds, it happens even at the highest level. I thought generally the referee from Tuesday night was much worse. He bottled the lot. He's lucky it didn't effect the outcome in a very obvious way - he seemed to get just about every decision wrong, not even the big decisions. I don't mean that he was biased, just that he seemed to make totally the wrong call about 70% of the time. I've honestly never seen anything like it.
