I'm normally quite in favour of thread necromancy, but in this instance.... why?

But, seeing as we're here.... my other half was quite happy to become Mrs. Mooney.

Then again, her maiden name was... Bending.

Don't really care.

I'm not even that sure about marriage.

Other issue is in some accents my surname sounds like slang for a form of sexual activity. For example in a Stirling accent it sounds we discovered it sounds like a colloquialism for wanking.

Oh, I don't know. I think "Mrs. McTosser" has a certain ring to it.

Women want to eliminate all the traditions such as cooking, cleaning, housewivery and name taking yet they still want males to maintain their traditions such as chivalry, giving their seat up for them etc.

You can't have it all ladies.

It's an ancient thread but I'll answer anyway. I'd like my wife to take my name (when I find a wife that is!). But if she really didn't want to then I wouldn't force her or make an issue out of it.
