Zatman
many Fa Cup memories as we are usually pants in the cup but carbone and Carew hat-tricks would be probably the best
villa4europe
rubbishest was probably chelsea x 2 watching the god awful performance on tv, for the semis i just got far too drunk, i peaked at around 11am and the rest of the day was just a haze, i can remember most of the match but my head was pounding, remember it being a really nice day, can remember a penalty appeal being turned down and even from the other end of the pitch terrys horror tackle, the middle section "posh seats" was seemingly mainly chelsea and stuff got thrown both ways, i do however remember my old man being sang for about 10 minutes which was great mine are mostly on tv even though when i was a kid it was always cup games rather than league games i went to, i'll second the carbone hattrick (brothers a dirt leeds fan) the bolton semi final shoot out, the utd 2-3 game
smetrov
West Ham away 1979 - team was flying - and we had contained West Ham - Last minute West Ham get a penalty - and score. I reckon had we held on for a minute longer - we would have won the replay and gone on to win the cup. My memory of this game is tarnished by voilence after the game - bottles whizzing my ears - and a fire extinguisher which slammed against the train window - was one hell of journey home !!!!

Stevo985 Posted February 18, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted February 18, 2015 What are your biggest/bestest/rubbishest FA Cup memories? That game vs Man City when they equalised in the last minute. Can't remember what round it was, but I think it was like 5th or something. This was probably 2006? One of the dullest games of all time. With the plus side being that it looked like we'd go through. Then they equalised in added time, and they won the replay. Shite. Also, Kiraly dropping the ball in the net vs Untied.
rjw63
In my lifetime we've been pretty shit in this competition. The 1980 "handball" loss to Wet Spam was bad, the drive up to a freezing Boundary Park to lose to Oldham on a plastic pitch was even worse. Not as bad as our no-show against Chavski in 2000 in the Final. The walk back to the car after that seemed to take about 3 days.
Raver50032
Highlights - Dublin's comeback penalty kick in the Semi at Wembley versus Bolton. Carbone's goal against Leeds in the same cup run... Merson's heroic endeavour in that same Leeds game - he injured himself for the cause. Magic Man. Collymore scores in an FA Cup against Albion - 1998? Carew's hat-trick at Reading in 2010... two of my mates appearing in the BBC picture of a penalty being scored - almost hi-def. Low Points - Being shushed by Damon Albarn at Wembley 2010 in the semi, when they scored their first goal. Word removed. He was in the middle ring and looking down on us in the mosh pit. Chelsea - 2000 cup final - words and words removed. Dennis words removed Wise... Cross eyed word removed. Having the mickey taken out of me by words removedish Chelsea fans on the tube back to Stanmore. Words removed. Ruud Van Nistlepiss in THAT game... we were the usual two nil up with 10 to play? Liverpool in 1996 - that was never a 3-0 game. Southgate - I blamed him for playing on when he should have come off. Losing away on penalties to Wimbledon in the fog in 1993 - replay. Dwight Yorke scoring for Blackburn in the 3rd round at Villa Park. My god that hurt. Even worse, he grinned like a Cheshire cat into the Holte. Word removed. I used to love him. Word removed. One to grow on - Bacuna's lovely goal against Leicester... Come the **** on!
Zatman
I know we won but the 2000 semi final was one of the worst games ive ever seen the most heartbreaking was the Liverpool defeat in 96, if i remember they scored 3 goals in 1st 15 minutes

Hanky
Dean Holdsworth missing that open goal in the semi final in 2000. Still think that ball is in orbit.

PaulC
Long time ago, but 2-0 win in the replay against Arsenal after drawing at Highbury 1-1 is special for me. VillaChris
West Brom at home in 98 was my first FA cup game actually. 4-0, Grayson scored a cracker in the first minute and even Collymore scored. What I remember most from the game though was the Holte abusing this bald fat Albion fan in the Witton lower for most of the game and he got thrown out after 70 minutes so everyone did the whole cheerio and we'll meet again chants, brilliant. I mean, if the SF defeat to Chelsea in 2010 is a low then surely the 4-2 win over Reading (when we came back from 2-0 at HT) has got to be a high as well? Zatman
but Reading were a 2nd division team, was a good day but not sure everybody would agree it was that much of a high. Was a game we were expected to win and nearly made a balls of it
