It's a game. Sherwood is trying his best as are the players. Why the need for insults or abuse?One thing to be stating your opinion of him not being good enough, quite another to be referring to him as a "clown" or "word removed" or whatever. It's embarrassing. There have been numerous quotes from Sherwood saying he takes responsibility that have been followed by him doing the exact opposite.As for the stuff about transfers, someone has been leaking it to the press and it doesn't really make sense for it to be the club. So if not Sherwood or those linked to him who do you propose it is? There was also that quote from Gary Rowett saying he was given the Villa line up before the blues derby, I doubt that would be Sherwood, is there a possibilty that there is someone within the camp trying to unsettle and undermine the manager?? Maybe a player/s with an axe to grind, it wouldn't be the first time in recent years that certain players have caused problems behind the scenes (not saying that's the case but could be a possibility) and a character like Sherwood can be devisive as he seems to be amongst supporters. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to think the camp may be divided. Just a thought....Given that Sherwood claimed we deliberately played crap tactics in the first half vs SHA, it wouldn't surprise me if the team sheet leak did come from him. As for the press leaks, Sherwood had a history of doing it at Spurs.He absolutely didnt say we deliberaely played crap. That is just another of the things that people have jumped on the bandwagon of and are using to justify their side. Dont get me wrong, I dont like him and think he will be sacked (rightly or wrongly for us at this time) but what he said was that we played deeper in the first half in order to invite them on, which allowed us to make the change at HT and push on in order to take advantage of the space that the first half tactics created. Whether people choose to believe that or not is up to them...but anyone who believes he said we deliberately played badly needs to let that particular stick drop and move on. Mark I have always been against abusing managers/players (apart from the odd drunken outburst!) But generally other than a handful I don't see anything like the abuse that the likes of Lambert, O'Leary or McLeish received, despite the fact that IMHO Sherwood is the most inept and useless manager since Graham Turner. IMHO he may actually be worse than Graham Turner. In my 50+ years supporting the Villa I have never known a manager so out of his depth in so many ways. I didn't like the fact that he got the job but was wiling to give him the benefit of the doubt - I should have trusted my first instinct. I can go on.I don't see anything here that makes him "a bellend" or "monumental knob" aside from leaks to the press (of which is there is no proof he's doing anything?) and getting AVB out of a job... which wasn't even when he was at Villa.I'd agree he's dislikeable but, again, the insults are unnecessary.
