VT Supporter villarule123 Posted February 10, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) So the best way to be able to watch both would seem to be having Sky TV (you can get them to give you a half price offer easily) and using BT for their Broadband (you still get Sports free with the Internet) Their internet costs aren't too dissimilar, so it won't be that bad. Will BT start charging separately for Sports though? It would mean changing the entire selling point which got people to switch to their Broadband in the first place. Or, you could just go down the easier route and find other ways of watching the football Edited February 10, 2015 by villarule123

Jimzk5
Listening to talksport earlier they estimated that in 2017 the team bottom of the league would get £100million in tv money alone based on the packages selling for £4.4billion overall, with them selling for more its feasible for the the team to finish bottom will get £105million. Enough to get you easily into the delloite top 20 earning teams in Europe. These figures are utterly incredible. The bubble needs to burst.

Jimzk5
Also no surprise sky got a majority of the packages, bt spunked a lot of money on acquiring exclusive coverage on the champions league which I think will come back to haunt them because in all honesty, unless Villa are playing in the CL, I ain't paying £20 a month to see basel v besiktas and I doubt 90% of other clubs fans would either.

dudevillaisnice
Losing premier league football would be devastating for Sky, they had to make sure they secured the rights. £4.2bn Sky bid = £1.4bn per season £960m BT bid = £320m per season
