A "villa fan" radio reporter on the Radio 5Live "606" said he witnessed several fights between Villa fans with kids being escorted out in tears !

That was my Dad. He got punched in the face because he said to the bloke he should get behind the team instead of calling for Lambert's head following a misplaced pass by Tom Cleverley in the 50th minute.

Embarrassed to call myself a Villa fan after today; both on and off the pitch we were a disgrace.

Sorry to hear that mate. Was he towards the front of the stand as I noticed something going on below where we were sitting? FWIW your dad is spot on - the team appeared to be affected by the Lambert Out chants today.

Nah, right at the back of the stand.

I've never wanted a full-time whistle to come more than ever today, and I think the players felt the same.

Villa fans arguing with each other at half time by me... to which about 3 rows of people started getting involved wanting a fight with each other. Saw a few bits and pieces at the front of Villa fans again kicking off at each other.

I am sick of following us away from home. I've seen us score once away at Stoke. Swansea, Albion, today, Everton, West Ham... not one f ing goal from us. Sick of it.

A minority of fans make me sick. We all understand heat of the moment but to punch a father in the face because they disagree? Horrific.

Villa are in trouble. Lambert is likely to stay whatever because of his contract so what's the point in endless Lambert Out chants?

I wouldn't mind hearing more constructive ideas about team selection etc.

I also want to know what Lambert has against Bent?

Why has Grealish not been starting? Sterling has at Liverpool. Before he went to Jamaica that is...

Absolutely pathetic coverage on Motd - the club's in dire straits and we merit exactly two sentences-worth of punditry.

Pundits know that Villa's current remit is simply to stay in the league so seeing us in 13th place it doesn't look like much is wrong.

Aside from the odd novelty stat we're rarely mentioned, probably because nothing has ever happened to make it seem Lambert's job is insecure. The man is never under pressure because we're meant to be in a "transitional period."

While recently promoted teams such as Southampton, Swansea and West Ham continue to do well nearer the top of the table with exciting football, it's little wonder that not much attention is given to our mind-numbingly dull style of play.

At least in the days of Alan Hansen there'd have been some time spent picking apart our defensive frailties, but today the crowd turned in a major way and apparently there were scuffles between second the crowd and all we get is "Well Villa can't score, can they?" The quality of analysis on that show has taken a nosedive.

utter shite.

Okore, Clarke , Guzan, Sanchez (to a point cos he had a couple of shaky ones) the only reason we were not plastered.

I don't think Gabby is that bad,I also don't think Weiman is that bad and we KNOW Tekkers is not that bad, but they were all useless , Benteke's lack of movement and , `I'm a teapot` disbelief is giving me the shits, Gabby and Weimann don't know where [and perhpas why] they are playing, this HAS to be coming from the bench, Hutton is not making the runs down the right he made early in the season... why not? I don't think its his preference, his body language suggests otherwise, or perhaps he knows he will be wasting his time since 7/10 even one of our more gifted players (Sanchez) has been drilled to pass it back and keep possession rather than forward to create a chance.

What I mean is I really don't think our squad is that bad.. so why we play so much utter shite? has to be instructions, has to be Lambert.

So now I don't know if I should be screaming for Lambert to replace cleverly after about 20 mins or not, I mean whats the point? he will make a non-nonsensical sub anyway who will also look as confused as anyone else as to know what to do (other than pass it back), perhaps Cleverly is a better player, we just may never get the chance to see that under Lambert.

How to make something happen? booing is just not on, though I smiled to hear the chants of 'you don't know what you're doing' after the Sanchez sub.

I cant threaten to boycott Villa Park cos I live in Australia, so only a thought boycott for me, but perhaps no bums on seats for a while may begin to hurt Lerner in the only place he requires stimulation, or at least make him look like the crap owner he is... he has to have some pride/ego somewhere he wants to defend, his type normally do~

That's awful to hear. Hope your old man is OK? I really do despair with us sometimes. The amount of absolute goons you meet on your travels is ridiculous. We're not small heath, we should be better than that!

Yeah, I think he's all right. Had a few beers to numb the pain so I guess we'll find out in the morning, ha.

Our away support has for a long time been the jewel in the Villa crown. This reaction, while totally understandable, is immensely depressing. If Lambert has managed to demoralise our awayday supporters, he has done more damage to the club than any manager in the past 20 years.

The worst game since last weeks abomination.

Lambert's football is the least effective most boring game that I've ever had the misfortune to watch, I'll never give up on my support for Aston Villa but I'm done with him and most of this squad.

Dire! There again what is new,no different to the Blackpool,Palace and Sunderland games if we are honest. More worrying as far as i am concerned is the fact that not only did we lose to the leagues bottom team,we were outplayed and it could and should have been 5 or 6

I like Hutton but his body language yesterday was shocking - he may as well have carried a board round stating "I really don't want to be here" !

Watch that Albrighton breakaway early doors when Nugent scuffed wide - Hutton just jogs back behind the two Leicester players and made no effort to save the day. He repeated that uncharacteristic "apathy" a number of times after that too.

Lambert has lost the changing room big time if Al is anything to go by !

There is nothing more irritating for a protester than for someone to start preaching calm and support when frustration has reached alarming levels...as sensible as it might appear.....but none of us have a monopoly on right or wrong with Lambert, it's just our personal views.

Paul Lambert has wallowed in calm and support from fans, so it is hardly surprising some fans are intent on a different tactic as the previous one has beared no fruit.

It is regrettable, but almost inevitable that when this level of poor performance is left to roll on unabated.....tempers will rise.

Might not be a place for kids right now.....as regrettable as that statement might seem.

Ah right. And that is an acceptable reason to punch a 57-year-old man in the face is it? Glad we've c cleared that one up.

I'm not a kid, either.

It certainly doesn't give anyone the right to punch anyone in the face.  And the person who did that to your dad is a despicable human being.

But when tensions are high and people are upset I think it's a risky move to start telling people they are wrong in what they are doing.

And that is exactly what I DID NOT say

It is regrettable that your father was hit by a another villa fan and should not happen under any circumstances.

I am 64 and I too went the same game.....when I witnessed what I did yesterday by a team at the bottom of the league I would be very reluctant to be preaching to frustrated supporters.

Your dad may be right, but keeping your own council is sometimes more prudent, when particularly being accompanied by family.

If someone ventures in to controversial situations which yesterday clearly turned out to be.....you are inadvertently dragging your family in to it.

I was just referring to being wary, to stay safe, not criticising your father as I don't know the finite details of what lead to him being hit.

Hope he is ok
