Weimann and Gabby are the problem. They are supposed to be our wide players but neither have any idea how to do it. Gabby kept dropping into the hole, holy god I cant think of a player I'd want less to be in there than him. At no point is there an overlap, at no point do they isolate a fullback. 

 

Watch Weimann when we have the ball, he's all effort and no brain. He'll make a scampering run out wide but when it makes no sense to do so. He's not running into space, the player with the ball is not in a position to play that pass. Then because he's now standing out wide he's not in a position to make the run AT THE RIGHT TIME. No instinct AT ALL.

 

At least Grealish played like a winger, he showed his naivety but showed his ability too.

 

There's no way I'd start Grealish if we had functioning wide players but we don't, so I would.

 

Lambert talked about him earning his place, well I think Gabby and Andi have EARNED a spot on the bench. Well earned.

BUt we really REALLY need to be winning games like that.

Palace were awful. We dominated them, and if we had an ounce of creativity in the final third we'd have won comfortably.

I slept in through the first half. It was way more entertaining than watching the second half.

Being realistic, we have taken 4 points from Palace this season compared with none last season and our better performance against them is one of the main reasons we are in a higher league position than last season.

 

We have a poor squad, a poor manager and a couldn't-be-bothered owner.

 

In those circumstances, 0-0 at home to Palace is probably not such a bad go.

 

Kudos to the 29,000 brave souls who struggled out to see this today.

Pathetic. Palace are woeful and we can't even score a goal. Theres no way forward under this set up, no ideas, it doesn't even look like we're that bothered either. However, he won't be sacked. No hope.
