54% possession, 17 shots, 7 on target. Late pen was a sucker punch. Benteke back next match. Be positive

Cue the massive negativity despite a good performance.

Agreed. Played well, strung passes together. Final third i didn't think we were too great, we let Burnley assemble and then we had a brick wall to get through. Crosses were good. **** up once and it cost us a Pen and then a goal. Then after that we shit the bed and Burnley played well to maintain pressure. Played a damn sight better than what we have been previously, and anyone who says otherwise needs to take a step back and rethink.

Having said that - us playing well, really, is just us doing the basics and not **** up. Will be extremely happy to see Benteke on the pitch.

Up until about 80 minutes all was going well. We could have had 3 or 4 goals in the first half and played really well with Cole the stand out.

Second half, we started to sit back but the changes Lambert made did help with that, until they got the peno and we just fell apart and were lucky to hold on in the end.

It was a positive game, but again cannot hold on to probably the worst team in the league. Lamberts influence why we still cant hold on the games. Something that would change with a new manager. Lambert has no idea how to change this cant people see!

Yeah because it's all about performances.

We need three points and we can't get them anywhere. If we had maybe won a few of the previous games then it would have been all right but we haven't won since September or some time long ago.

I think it's very normal that people are not entirely positive despite us being unlucky today. Even then, being 1-0 up is never very comfortable.

Typical Villa, pissed it away in the last 15 minutes but this time to Burnley. Another game chalked off before they sack to bumbling fool.

Everything but that one moment was positive. We simply dominated - but the reason we are in our biggest relegation fight yet is our inability to do the right things when needed. Gabby giving that ball away was awful. Just awful. Burnley have completely stole the point there - but there was always going to be another chance for them such is our inability to kill a game. The very fact we're going to have to try and settle for not losing is indicative of how absolutely awful we are. We're our own worst enemy. Wed've comfortably won with Benteke, Vlaar and Delph but had the perfect opportunity today to put a few points between us and the bottom three.

I'm furious and each week we edge closer to the inevitable.

I voted Cole, Good, Average.

Looked exciting in the first half, like a new lease of life has been put into us. A bit shakey at the start of the second, then solid for 20 mins. Once the clock hit 80+, everyone knew something bad was going to happen (this is Villa after all), and it did. Last 5 minutes was just nail biting. Can't say much more than that.

Hopefully, we can start the next few games like we did this game, maintain some composure throughout the match, and have Benteke back in the side to knock in a goal or two to finish off the games.

Overall, a lot better than we have seen recently, just a shit final 10 mins as usual.

Held on for the point.

Decent first half, rubbish second half trying to time waste and hold on instead of killing the game off.

I agree about the first half, but not the second? They started stronger but before the penalty they did not look like scoring and cleverly and westwood and grealish were knocking it about nicely.

We were only a few minutes from winning. We did not deserve to lose, could have won it at the death even after weathering the storm after they scored and we were all over the place for a bit.

It's very disappointing to only get a point, as it was against Southampton. Still though, we played some good stuff and that bodes well for when we get Benteke back too.

It's just becoming the same story every week. The side's so mentally weak we basically can't win a game if we take the lead early on. There's so much fear it's crazy, we always fall to pieces. So tired of it.

It's genuinely difficult to feel positive because it just feels like another defeat. Cole offered something we haven't had for a long time though, let's hope he can get a run of games without getting injured.

I'm sure that people will be blaming Lambert for Okore's mistake. They're idiots.

his tactics placed our defence under immense pressure. Both Okore and Clark have barely played football this season and didnt need that. We should have gone to kill the game.

Could have been a different game had Gabby put his chance away which Cole served him up on a plate (not to mention them hitting the post twice though!).

Benteke back next game, a bit more confidence hopefully. 3 games undefeated!

Just not very good at putting the ball in the back of the net. While we can't score goals we're always susceptible to a sucker punch.

Played very well up until they scored. Bit of a soft penalty. Okore should have moved his arm when he was falling as it made it look like he was dragging the player down, when it was more of a coming together than anything else.
