This the first season in a while I am genuinely looking forward to next year, can't remember us playing such positive football on the front foot that I've seen. Hence why I'd be extra gutted if we dropped!

Were you not one of the lot saying the season we signed bacuna et al, was the season they'd looked forward to since 1982 :)

Not saying you were btw, just that there were some.

I always look forward to the next season, but I'd say that within 8/9 games, I'm always thinking, 'ah man, a year of this shite again'.

Don't lose Saturday and I think we're safe. We'll do West Ham who are on the beach and you don't need to be twitching arry to know fat Sam is off end of.the season so the players ain't bothering (can see the candle wax faced crook there in the summer. Him n the pornos match made in freak heaven), we always get something from Southampton, Burnley I think is our toughest game. Even if they are gone like all relegated teams they'll play with freedom. But I think we will be safe by then. Players will all want to fight for a cup final place, and we actually play good football now so I think we will (just) be fine.

Even if we lose this weekend, if Sunderland also lose to Southampton, I think another point might end up being just enough, leaving the Mackems with 33 as theboyangel predicts, but probably with worse goal difference than us given their horror away games still to come and starting off one goal worse than us.

That would be too nervy, though, and if Sunderland somehow defy form and go on a good run (or even if they just beat Southampton this weekend) it could get really ugly.

Gonna be a bag of nerves this weekend...

Perason lost it in the post match presser last night, I don;t know why but clearly he's a bit unhinged. Hopefully that rubs off on the team who will also be knackered on Saturday. It does feel like a premier league story where they've been on an incredible run only to fall at the last hurdle - so can see Leicester now feeling the pace and faltering a bit more.

He's done that before to be fair.

Something he's kind of known for. He does come across in a number of pressers as unhinged and bizarrely aggressive. I seem to recall him snapping and carping at a journalist not long before their good run, actually, so not sure we can read too much into it in terms of its signs of impact on him or the team.

Thing with Leicester is they now have something to lose, they were gone a few weeks ago, have gone on a great run and find themselves outside the bottom 3, probably for the first time since they either beat us or United. You'd wonder does their mind set change and they end up thinking a point here might not be the worst result, rather than going all out for a win, personally I think that's a horrible attitude and sees teams not managed by Jose beaten more often than they get the draw. 4 points minimum from the next 2 games for me, I think if we get that we'll be fine, with Burnley still at home, and Southampton who we have a decent record against since they came up.

Completely in our own hands now - no excuses.

Minimum of a draw this weekend, and with Leicester - Newcastle the early kick off which shouldn't do Leicester any favours hope Newcastle can sneak a win.

Yep - it is that time of year when every game of those below us is watched as though watching villa - every point difference betwen them and us matters. In a sick way I shall miss the excitement, should we fare better next year - in the prem - I won't miss the stress though.

It's absolutely crucial that Burnley are already down by the last game. That gives us a nice bit of insurance if the next 2 home games don't go to plan.

Just updated my sports predictor with very generous results for Hull, Sunderland and Leicester.  For us I have us winning against West Ham and Burnley.  I have it going down to the last day.

14.  Leicester - 38 Points with -16 GD

15.  West Brom - 38 Points with - 21 GD

16.  Hull - 37 Points with -16 GD

17.  Newcastle - 37 Points with - 25 GD

18.  Sunderland - 36 Points with - 27 GD

19.  QPR - 30 Points with - 23 GD

20.  Burnley - 30 Points with - 27 GD

Newcastle will be fine in my opinion.

im not sure, they really are atrocious. I know some Newcastle fans who think they cant get another point for rest of season and have said this since January window closed

If they do stay up I would fear for Derby points record if Carver still in charge next season
