'Law of averages'? Jesus wept.

As a keen betting man i'm surprised you don't recognise Law of Averages as a valid point.

Do Man City win every week? Do Chelsea win every week? Is it unrealistic to say that Southampton are due either a poor performance or a bad result?

There is clearly a few of us taking the same view based on the replies already on this thread.

What about the "Laws Of Shitness"

This only applies when you have a shit manager, shit players, shit stadium and shit fans. I believe this also dubbed the 'Blues Theory'.

Well we have 2 out the 4 already then.

I think 90% of us are expecting us to get our pants pulled down for this game, Its just a case of how far we bend over for them will be the fighting factor.

Law of large numbers - valid theorem.

'Law of averages' - a mistaken understanding of statistics/probabilities.

Gambler's fallacy - why bookmakers/casino owners are generally the winners.

As far as the game goes, I think they'll stuff us. Let's hope they don't.

Actually fancy us to get a win here, it's purely law of averages stuff.

We're at home, we are due some kind of performance and they are seriously overdue either a bad performance or bad result. Yes they are much better than us but even the best teams slip up an they are certainly not on man city or Chelsea's level.

The end of that statement may come back to bite you in the bum at the end of the season ;)

There is no way Darren Bent is starting.

Not until he stops eating all the pies.

He's ate all the pies and is now munching on the sausage rolls!!!!

These guys were much better than us last year and we took 4 points off them

Then maybe by the law of averages they're due a win against us?  ;)

I see it like this, they're a better team in a superb form and we're a poor side in an atrocious form and without much threat going up. Taking that into consideration with the other point being that we're horrid at home and it really doesn't look very bright for us. Yes, sometimes that doesn't matter and it's not impossible that we won't sneak a win or hold our own for a draw. However, I'm not betting on it.

WTf, this match is on the 24th!!! That's two weeks without my beloved Villa :(

2 weeks until you are embarrassed hate football and wish you could have the previous 90 minutes of your life back? How will you ever cope :)

Looks like no Vlaar, Senderos, Baker or Hutton, so backline will probably be: Cissokho - - - Clark - - - Okore - - - Bacuna. I'd get a hattrick against that.

yeah our injury list at the back isn't exactly comforting. that seemed like our only pillar of strength in our squad judging from the start of the season.
