I'm avoiding pain and trying to induce a miracle by not watching this game. So I can update everyone as to the corner count after 32 minutes of this game.

 

It is: West Ham 8 corners, Aston Villa 0 corners.

Lambert's ineptitude is really on show when we occasionally get the ball in a forward position. In the last few minutes Sanchez and Cissokho have both had the ball in forward positions. Both simply lofted a ball into the box, overhit, metres away from any Villa players. What are they being coached to do?

 

Do you think Lambert has them on remote control?

Good stuff that.

 

The longer this goes without West Ham scoring, the more we can take a little of their confidence and add it to our own - and it's confidence, not quality that's the big difference between these sides.
