In no particular order:

Goodfellas

Die Hard

Black Hawk Down

Tomorrow Never Dies

Goldeneye

The Great Escape

LoTR: Return of the King

Saving Private Ryan

Godzilla (the 1998 American version - don't hate)

Star Wars Episode III

I've probably forgotten some though.

Can you please remove Godzilla. I was going to commend you on your taste, but I just can't bring myself to do it while that's there.

Matthew Broderick is one of the worst actors to achieve mainstream success. I cannot watch a film with that guy in for more than 5 minutes. That includes that Ferris Buller and Wargames malarky.

Have a like for this most truthful post.

This is impossible to do, I've got loads more still :(

Yep, that's always the issue with these sort of lists. I have a standout favourite, but many, many 9/10 movies that are on a par.

Also, I'm watching so many "new" films all the time that are capturing my imagination in ways it has never been captured before that it's almost impossible to quantify what is "best".

Have you only ever watched 15 films then ;)

To be honest I'm not a big film watcher unless it's a true story or based on true events, granted 4/5 the above are fiction but I enjoyed them.

Watched Gone girl and Kill The Messenger yesterday, Latter starts off very good will watch the end later.

Do you know what... I like that film too.. It isn't perfect but it is just a lot of fun! I also love Cloverfield, another really cool monster movie!

That's why I always distinguish between "best" and "favourite"

My list of the top 10 "best" films would bear little resemblance to my favourites.

Yep, completely agreed. While Avengers may be my favourite film ever, it's not as good in an acting/direct/script sense as many films.

I can't do 10. I'll just do a clear cut few

Pan's Labyrinth

Star Wars: A New Hope

Baseketball

Mallrats

Wayne's World

No Australian films? -_-

The Castle?

Wolf Creek is pretty good but not top 10 good

Chopper and Rabbit Proof Fence would both get a shout from me.
