Sam3773
I was optimistic. Not because I have some belief we will be all powerful this season and not lose, but because we have been playing really well and looked good in the first few games. Today we had half a team there from the start. We had plans to field 11 players of which we got 9 out and 2 backups. Delph and Cleverley looked good during the first 20 minutes, but it all fell apart. I can't completely blame the virus for the loss directly but I can blame it for forcing Paul to play players that aren't ready/good enough. In the coming weeks we will hopefully get our squad back, add a pinch of Benteke, and come back fighting. Today for me was frustrating because it felt out of our control so I remain optimistic for the season. It's not every weekend the lads are gonna have a dodgy Jalfrezi. LxYoungAVFC
Flat, boring home performance infront of a full house. You guys saying it's the virus' fault are really trying to find the perfect excuse....sad.The sick players were not on the field. We fell asleep twice after conceding. That is the reason we lost. Save the desperate excuses please, you are doing my head in. Who knows how many players have had it and are still recovering? Who knows how many players who played are suffering still but carried on. On paper arsenal are so so so much better than we are. Bit of perspective please Just referring to what you said.

They have personal trainers etc. Most of you sound like you believe they all live at bmh and maybe even share toothbrushes. What does any of this have to do with Liverpool? If it's something like the norovirus (which I've had multiple times) you can catch it just by simply being in the same room as a sick person within 48hours of them being sick. Don't be stupid, it's not like they're eating the same food, in the same cafeterias together, sweating and breathing heavily in the same gym, in close contact in training in drills, socialising after work etc etc etc

Ponky
We switched off for five minutes and got destroyed. I was more disappointed in the fact that we took the coward's option in the second half and didn't have a crack. Grealish again looked dangerous and it's time to see what he can offer us for a full game.
villa4europe
Stand by my previous comment, Sanchez won't be ready to start this side of Christmas, still not sure what Richardson offers either Overall really poor midfield vs the 2nd best midfield in the league, will be interesting to see what we do vs the best midfield In the league next week
StanBalaban
For anyone that's every played 5 a side with a cold (or a hangover) (sorry Donnie), it batters you. We may never know how badly affected the players on the pitch were so any analysis on this game are moot IMO. Got beaten by 3 minutes of sloppiness / their quality / meltdown / madness (delete as appropriate) (SD).
PaulC
We did well until we conceded the first goal then 3 minutes of capitulation and from then on in, it was a stroll in the park for Arsenal. Sanchez needs games to get up to speed but we can't afford to carry passengers while he does...Delph fighting a lone battle, without Westwood in midfield. I thought Grealish didn't look out of place. He might be a better option than Richardson.
StanBalaban
Thought Delph and Cleverley started as the best two midfielders on the pitch. With Westwood, that's a good midfield capable of keeping us ticking over. Thought Westwood was the one we missed most today, along with Weimann's workrate.
