TrentVilla Posted August 30, 2014 Moderator Share Posted August 30, 2014 And so begins the 'snag' stories from the press that I predicted when they've jumped the gun and things aren't as progressed as they previously reported.
The_Steve
The keyword is "might". In the absence of developments the press will simply invent stories when they are not privy to discussions. Nothing more than speculation upon speculation. Ignore it.
AValon
If we've put a bid in of 7/8million. then I'm sure somreones done the math over wages and what we can afford? Unless Cleverley has delusions of grandeur, I'm sure his demands can't be that OTT? Now if league potential (as against Everton) or location (Valencia) were the issues, I could well believe it. If its meant to be. it will happen.
guyavfc
Cleverley not in the united squad.

El-Reacho
Thought if we'd gone ahead with a bid we'd already have agreed wages through his agent. Perhaps he's jacked up the wage demands because of Valencia and Hull bids.

Dr_Pangloss
Perhaps deals just take a little bit of time. To be fair, he seems to have offers on the table, only right he listens to them all. Roy Keane is the one who will make this deal if it does materialise.

jacketspuds
Hope we wrap this up soon to give us enough time to bring a winger in.
Wainy316
So is the meeting with Keane a complete lie?
SikhInTrinity
Also if Cleveley joins the role earmarked for him is the advanced midfielder role behind the strikers.
David-Copenhagen
Steve Bruce has confirmed that Hull have put a bid in apparently, wouldn't surprise me if he went there instead That won't happen, us or Everton. I know that Everton has finished higher than us for a few years, but did they not just pay Eto 70K a week and they must have alot of high earners in that side - how can they afford that - their turnover is not that much higher than ours?? SikhInTrinity
So is the meeting with Keane a complete lie? Nope he has met Lambert and Keane, however Cleverley meeting Lambert is not really a story.
Richard
It'd surprise and shock me if he chose to join Hull City over Aston Villa. why, because i would be surprised if he chose us over them right now I must search for an appropriate response to this latest development from the examples given earlier in the thread....
