l believe this known widespread.

To be honest i don't even know if his started games ratio for us back this up, Maybe someone who has his stats could back it up or put it to bed.

Just looked at Squawka. He made his debut against Liverpool correct? If so, the only game he hasn't played in is the Man Utd game.

Liverpool - 85 mins

Arsenal - 90 mins

Chelsea - 90 mins

Man City - 90 mins

Everton - 90 mins

QPR - 90 mins

Spurs - 90 mins

West Ham - 90 mins

Southampton - 90 mins

Burnley - 90 mins

Palace - 88 mins

Leicester - 61 mins

WBA - 90 mins

Swansea - 76 mins

Sunderland  - 67 mins

Palace - 63 mins

And what has he done in all those minutes? Diddly squat.

He's tidy in possession, and that's about it.

Seriously.  You could train any kid from the age of 8, and they'd have - at a minimum - Tom Cleverly's ability.

Yep

He just does the very basics of football expected by anyone who has it as a profession.

Sadly we do have a few players (Gabby, Andi...) who can't even do this and who just runs around aimlessly on the pitch.

I don't think we have played him in an advanced midfield role which is where I expected him to play and would have thought was his best position.

In fact I am not totally sure what position he is asked to play, but that's for another thread/debate.

That said, on all evidence to date, I wouldn't pay two bob for him but if we cant afford fees of £2.5 million we wont get anyone better either.

What a dilemma!!!

Yeah and Swansea aside the drop in minutes has come against the leagues so called Gibraltars, Georgias & San marinos, Not the Spains, Dutch or German sides!

No manager/club would ever agree to any clause in any contract that states that a player has to start every game if fit. Most (all?) loans usually have some recall clause in them somewhere so it's not really a surprise Man Utd. can recall him in January (if true).

The drop in minutes coincide with him having been carrying a knock.

If he was having a blinder i am sure he would of been kept on. Hes still not good enough. Surprised Everton still want him.

On a free transfer he'd be a mildly useful signing for Everton or Villa. He'd provide cover and pad out the threadbare squad that both clubs have. Spending £7.5m on him on the other hand would be madness.

There is no way he has to start every game when fit, that is total bollocks. I dont think Cleveley is that bad, he hasnt set the world on fire but I dont think he has been shit as some people have stated.
