Does no-one remember when he was an absolute beast for Arsenal? He's a great player on his day, absolutely no doubt about it. He would absolutely be a marquee signing for us considering we've been teetering on relegation for three years in a row.

It will never happen under the current restrictions though. Plus he would have far better offers.

Boy oh boy season ticket sales really must be bad if they are reduced to making stuff like this up.

Why does every link to a player we like have to be some sort of conspiracy on behalf of the club to drum up ticket sales? You do realise that the papers make this kind of shit up all the time don't you?

It's such a tired old cliche.

If that was true QPR would have about a million ST's with the amount of rumours Arry generates

Not even worth the energy of typing from any of us on here.

The chance of him joining us is zero.

He would have roughly 80 clubs lurking around for his signature - and 80% would back away because of his wage demands. He is not a poor player just because he cannot hack it at Barcelona, he would be the ideal player for a lot of clubs including Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham to mention a few. Then there are all the good clubs in Turkey, France, Italy, Germany and Spain - all of them with more money and a better chance of getting him.

I wouldn't be very surprised if he ended up in Italy or was signed to "compete" at Man City or Man Utd.

It does seem like people have forgotten just how good he was at Arsenal if he wouldn't be consider anything other than a massive coup. As is said above though, there is zero chance of this happening and the link the thread was founded upon is as flimsy as they come.
