DCJonah
I just hope we go for it and see something different to the hoof ball style of play which seemed to be plan A every game last season. I would love Grealish to start but I don't think lambert will select him. I'm actually not sure what formation we will play. Like i say i just hope we go for it. OutByEaster? Posted August 13, 2014 Moderator Share Posted August 13, 2014 I'd go: ------------------Guzan---------------- Hutton-----Vlaar-----Okore--Cissokho ---------------Westwood---------------- ----------KEA--------Delph------------- N'Zogbia----------------------Grealish --------------Agbonlahor-------------- Subs Given, Senderos, Clark, Bacuna, Richardson, Gardner, Weimann But I think you can switch N'Zog, Weimann, Gabby around to your hearts content and have much of a muchness.
Zhan_Zhuang
Westwood and Delph would get murdered as two in midfield, need the support of KEA.
villalad21
Our midfield is so weak, thats our main problem, even with Sanchez its still rather weak
DCJonah
I'd look forward to the game more if i knew grealish and gardner were starting.
a m ole
Westwood and Delph would get murdered as two in midfield, need the support of KEA. I fear this is starting to become a "Gerrard and Lampard can't play in the same team" type opinion. There's a lot of teams that play two not particularly big, strong central midfielders that do just fine. Supplementing with KEA who is actually the smallest of all of them is a strange solution... krisagg75
think it'll be a dull, drab 0-0.last game on motd.
JoshVilla
Guzan Hutton Vlaar Okore Cissokho Sanchez Westwood Delph N'Zogbia Richardson Bent Subs: Given, Senderos, Clark, Grealish, Weimann, Agbonlahor, Gardner Normally I like more than 1 striker up front, if N'zogbia and Richardson cut in or try and thread some balls to Bent, then I think that'd be a decent lineup. Obviously, if the Sanchez signing goes through, I doubt we'd play him on Saturday, but that'd be what I'd put out if we did play him. Bring Grealish on in Richardson's place later on in the game. Plenty of options on the bench too if we're in need of more pace up front. Don't really know what to predict. First game of the season and all, quite difficult to tell. I just hope we play some positive football, look steady and come away with 3 points to start the season. UTV
smetrov
Just out of interest - how many of you who are including Nzogbia were at the Parma game on saturday ? - where he was totally anonymous all afternoon
villa89
I think we'll play this formation. It's not the team I'd pick. And forget about putting Sanchez in your teams. Even if he had signed he wouldn't be thrown in at the deep end. Guzan Hutton - Vlaar - Okore - Cissohko Westwood KEA Delph Weimann Richardson Gabby Edited August 14, 2014 by villa89

sonic_bouma
-------------------Guzan----------------- Hutton------Vlaar-------Okore------Cissokho ---------------Delph-----KEA----------------- Zogbia-------------Grealish---------Richardson ----------------------Gabby-------------------- Ask Delph to play the Sanchez role just for one game as he is the most physical of our midfield trio for last year . I can't justify putting Westwood in there with him because our midfield got waltzed through game after game last year. KEA is at least a little but more clued up defensively. Grealish has looked sharp pre season always on the move looking for one twos. I'd stick him in the hole and see if he can surprise stoke who will know very little about him. Plenty of pace with Richardson Zogbia and gabby on the break. Will make such a huge difference if we sign Sanchez and get Tekkers back. We won't look and play like such a bunch of school boy ninnies with them. I do think Stoke will nick this 1-0. A draw would be a great result
KHV
Guzan Okore Vlaar Senderos Hutton KEA Richardson Westwood Delph Nzogbia Bent subs: Given, Wiemann, Grealish, Sissokho, Bacuna, Gardner, Agbonlahor,

Richard
I don't know where this optimism has come from, maybe the start of the season being upon us maybe the signing of a player for cash in a position we need it don't know but I'll go for 3-2 to villa
DCJonah
With the comments about vlaar and okore not up to speed could we see a back two of senderos and clark? That would worry me.
EastEndVillan
I think that Lambert will want to have three in the middle of midfield, so that's KEA, Delph & Westy. Back 5 largely picks itself, so Guzan, Hutton, Vlaar, Okore & Cissokho. and that leaves the front three, personally I'd go with N'Zog, Gabby and Richardson, but it could just as easily be Bacuna (for N'Zog), Wiemann (for Gabby) & Gealish (for Richardson). Bent hasn't done enough to justifiy a start, nor has Joe Cole.
