Even Danny Dyer and Ray Winstone wouldn't be enough to save RotS

Kylo Ren wouldn't stand a chance against Craig Fairbrass

I don't think anything about it was as bad as the massive plot hole in TLJ. But yeah overall I agree. Shite

Which plot hole? I'm the pantheon of Last Jedi plotholes, there's some stinkers, but RoS has a Galaxy destroying fleet magicked into existence in the first 5 minutes by a zombie.

The Mandalorian I really liked, I think they were wary of how much to put into the show and it seemed light in parts as they were unsure of how it would be received.

However they realised soon enough it was good/popular and have commissioned seasons 2 and 3.

Michael Biehn, Rosario Dawson to be in the next season also.

IG-11 also voiced by Taika Waititi.

I'd also like to practise a North-south technique with Gina Carano 😉

I'll spoiler this but it's kinda pointless.

I'm working from memory so this may not be 100% accurate but you get the point

Spoiler

As far as I can remember, about 75% of the film is driven by that new woman taking over from Leia and having "a plan", but for some reason not sharing it with Poe.

As a result Poe goes on this secret mission to that casino place to find that hacker and all that shit and starting a mutiny against her.

But it turns out her plan was actually pretty solid all along. And it's absolutely inexplicable why she wouldn't tell Poe. He's like a pretty important guy in the whole setup and her plan is a pretty good one. So why wouldn't she tell him? It makes no sense. He would have just said "Yeah that's a good plan actually let's do it"

And again I'm working on memory but I think the only reason the plan doesn't work and the bad dudes find the resistance is someone ends up telling Snoke, or they follow someone to them, I can't quite remember. But what I do remember is whoever gives the plan away would never have been in a position to give it away if hadn't been for that secret mission they went on which they'd have never gone on if that new head woman had just told Poe the plan in the first place.

And like hundreds of people in the resistance die because of that.

The entire film wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for that

I always felt they get away with that because they suspect there might be a mole, therefore you can kinda give it the get out of poor character judgement than a true plot hole.

I've got bigger problems with stuff like the rebels great plan being entirely reliant on the First Order not bothering to just destroy them with lighter craft. And also that their plan is escape to make a last stand. When they could just have dispersed.

And the kamikaze, which breaks the universe entirely.

But doesn’t the last stand only happen because the plan has been given away by the pointless mission that they went on in the first place?

If it wasn’t for that they wouldn’t have known where they were

Off the back of loving The Mandalorian, I've decided to the give The Clone Wars animated series a go.  Had heard good things about it going in, have burned through 5 seasons in about a fortnight and it's fantastic.  Hell, it almost redeems the prequels to an extent (the huge narrative gaps it fills at the very least give eps 2 & 3 a new lease).  Also so many crossovers/references with The Mandalorian that I wouldn't have known about on the first watch.  Great stuff.

I’ve watched the lot with my lad, barring the latest season

there’s some great storylines and  characters throughout.

Spoiler

I believe Temeura Morrison is signed on for S2 of the mandalorian but not just as Jango Fett! I anticipate we may see one of the old Clones such as Rex or Cody making an appearance.

you may want to check out Rebels too - that had some great moments and storylines including appearances by Maul, Obi-Wan and Bossk(!)

First 2 episodes of Season 2 of The Mandalorian have been great.

Need to watch episode two but the whole series has been epic.

Episodes in first season had vibes of Aliens, Westerns and little comedic elements the original saga had in buckets.

first season built really well to a crescendo of a final episode.

I’ve just started watching The Clone Wars after seeing it recommended a few posts up. I genuinely thought I’d lose interest quick but I’ve spent all morning so far watching it. After reading reviews online too it seems to only get better.

For those that have seen it, am I right in thinking Vader doesn’t appear in this as it’s set between ep 2 + 3? Also, does this series fall in line with what happens in the movies?

I found it boring if I’m honest

the whole galaxy to explore...let’s find a reason to go back to this location for a 4th time...so we can go do something with these underdeveloped characters that doesn’t have any consequence...to be that last point is a bit harsh as this week at least did take a big step forward in the overall arc of the season but usually it doesn’t

theres just something about its format that if I watch it at the wrong time i don’t enjoy it, it’s meaningless throw away TV, littered with Easter eggs that half the time I don’t get (the episode 3 woman I still haven’t got a clue who that is) like the films it’s more capable of pissing me off than it is of making me enjoy it, looks awesome and has so many cool elements but then so much bad writing

all im left wondering is how they get him back to tattooine cos olyphant was a cool character and the woman likes the child!!!

Yup, I'm the same. Obviously has high production value and it looks great with tons of familiar stuff and easter eggs. But I really don't find anything in it interesting. I'd even say it's boring.

Nice to see they have Macarons in a galaxy far, far away thou :D

Got to hand it to the Empire - they have an excellent branding and design department. All of their ships and bases have the same look and feel.

But why do they always build those little half walls in their hallways? The pesky rebels can always hide behind them in a gun fight - but the stormtroopers can't for some reason. They must be structural I'm guessing?!

You can go back to the original Death Star and its glaring weakness. As long as you can fire a shot into a vent, it will destroy the whole thing. Just put a blast resistant grill on it. Sorted.
