Has/ is anyone putting any bets on this World Cup? Outright winner, each way, top goalscorer? Paddy Power have one of their promotions on, put £20 on a player to be top scorer, and every time that player scores, you get a £5 free bet. I've put £20 on Neymar, he was second favourite after Messi.

2. Ecuador (Win) v Hondura, Ivory Coast (Win) v Greece, Bosnia (Win) v Iran, Switzerland (Win) v Honduras 9.5/1

Only had some top-scorer bets so far, but I reckon the golden boot winner will come from Argentina.

Their group of Bosnia, Iran and Nigeria means they could be handing out some hammerings - though Dzeko at 100/1 is worth a dabble e/w I think.

I've had a accumulator on the group winners, £20 with possible return of something like £2500.

Long shot but worth a punt I thought.

Went Higuain topscorer last time...he scored a hatrick in the first game which made me think it would be a formality...and he didn't score in any of the other games.

You'd think he'd be a decent shout again tapping in Messi's assists.

One of the attacking midfielders from Brazil could be a decent outside eachway bet...maybe Oscar or Paulinho?

done Aguero for top scorer, they are in a group in which Argentina should score 10 goals minimum then probably Russia or Korea in 2nd round, might also throw an each way on Bacca at 100/1

as for individual games, Croatia is 10/1 opening game, not unknown for an opening day shock

Also backed Augero for top scorer, it's the obvious choice.

Argentina have 2 teams outside the top 33 ranked in their group, my friend is talking up Higuain at 22/1 but he hasn't featured in their latest 2 friendlies versus Slovenia & Trinidad & Tobago. Aguero has managed 32mins, while Messi has got 122mins, there's just so much firepower in the Argentina team. Messi will need to do it at a WC to be considered the best ever, lot of pressure on him, if Aguero had a few more minutes I'd be lumping on him, Messi has been playing in the hole behind two strikers in their last 2 games so with Aguero slightly further up the pitch you'd imagine he's the better value at 14/1 compared to Messi's 8/1.

italy are woeful, living on past reputation.there's no way we should be that price.i'm not patriotic just seen how poor italy are,how they've struggled.they ain't good anymore, with lallana, sturridge, berkeley, sterling we've got pace and goals, defence is crap though.

the dutch are poor as well and chile in south america at 2's is unmissable.
