Czechlad
Japan don't look like they even want to tie it. I thought they would be one of the surprise teams of the world cup, but they look very timid.

ozvillafan Posted June 15, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted June 15, 2014 Mentally, the Japanese were weak. 2 quick goals and heads dropped. They never looked comfortable or likely after that.
mikeyp102
Good goal. Why the **** are bbc calling Ivory Coast by the French name? They are British broadcasters call them by the British name... It's not even hosted in a French speaking nationI believe the Ivorian government officially discourages use of the English name, and have done for quite some years, not a recent thing. Fair enough wasn't aware of that
The_Rev
I'll bet they still call us Angleterre though!

mikeyp102
Ok so the bbc are perfectly comfortable calling them Ivory Coast rather than Cote D Ivorie
Dr_Pangloss
Isn't 'Côte D'Ivoire' just French for Ivory Coast? Really no big deal. I guess we should start calling Italy Italia, Spain España, Germany Deutschland etc etc then.
hogso
The mere talismanic presence of Drogba had the Japanese defence quacking in their tiny tiny boots. A shame they couldn't hold on for the win, but 1000% ELEPHANTS deserved the win and should be quite the force to contend with in later stages. Voinjama
Asian teams tend to struggle against big, physical African teams, and today was no exception. Nice stereotyping. I have to say the Colombian supporters were incredible. Probably the best supporters I have seen in the cup so far.
Popular Post 8pints
Asian teams tend to struggle against big, physical African teams, and today was no exception. Nice stereotyping. They should do penis size for African countries. It would probably put these figures to shame. I don't have a clue if the stereotype of African males having large schlonges is true. How would I know,. Plus it was a light hearted joke.
