So have puns been banned now?

I'm out.

They're not banned, briny, but pages of the things don't help people reading on small phones and the app. Same as massive nested quotes. Most threads are fine, but there's so many pages so quickly that scrolling through pages full of puns to get to some "news" is annoying for many posters. We're just trying to keep the site useable for everyone. Hopefully people understand why.
The Kwan puns are the best thing about this thread.

Disagree. Mendi's ridiculous attempts at trolling followed by whining when we do not believe him is the best part of this thread. Keeps me coming back every time.

agreed. There's nothing to be happy about as a Villa fan at the moment, don't take away our puns.

This thread has taken a bad turn.

When 2 'itk's face off.

FWIW, I have heard that any news tomorrow (if we get any at all) will not tell us any more about any potential owner. It's about Lambert. My friend seems to think the talks was at Lambert's request, as he is not happy being in limbo - being asked to work with nothing and a depleted squad, and damage his reputation, just to be replaced as soon as a new owner comes in. How that talk went and the result of it, he does not know.

I also do not know the reliability, but I have little to suspect he's making anything up, other than that the last 'tip' he gave me was to quickly bet on OGS as new villa manager, and I lost £75..

I'm hoping Kwan's wrong about it being someone who already owns a US sports team. I think we need someone who can concentrate on the VIlla without having their financial clout and attention split between the two teams.

For the most part (Levi can correct me) I think US sports teams basically run themselves, they exist in the cities they do (mostly) because they make money. Revenue sharing also helps push up the finances of the smaller market teams.

It's almost impossible for a US sports team owner to lose money. Once you're in, you're on the gravy train, especially in the NFL (a model of pure, unbridled socialism).

Hicks/Gillette and the Glazers are examples of greedy parasites who do not respect the institutions they took over and only see dollar signs.

Fenway Sports Group is an example of positive American ownership, because they respect the culture and have a big enough bankroll to make Liverpool contenders. Basically Lerner but with much more money.

We'd want owners in that vein, and I trust Lerner to get it right in that regard.

I personally think we need dedication from somebody, and not see us as a way of expanding there own publicity solely... Hopefully they see us as a club that is massively under achieving and have the fans best interest at heart! Not asking too much, just 600 mill should do it :)

The timing is right in that the Premier League was all over American television this year in a way it never had been before, ratings were through the roof, and because the league is so compelling, the allure in getting involved with owning a club must be at an all time high right now. The TV money coupled with the league's rapidly expanding international profile surely makes it a very tempting proposition for a well heeled sports enthusiast.

So when Admin on TBAR comes out with some itks we can all call him out on it on here but when we have a poster on here posting some of the ridiculous ITK posts are who quite frankly could be a small heathen it doesn't appear to us mortals that anything us being done to quell the tide.

I appreciate that mods have a hard time but for me there is a fairly clear line between misguided and troll.

If a takeover doesn't happen by July, I say we start sacrificing folk.

This. And from a financial point of view we should start with Darren Bent. I'll be sorry to see him go, but, well, Greater Good etc.
