Risso
You'll all think he's the best manager in the world again if he gets wins against Man City or Spurs you fickle lot! Brilliant, post of the year. But er, no we won't.

kevangrealish
If Lambert does get a sack, does that mean Given will be a temporary manager? Good point, I doubt it... he has least coaching experience than the rest of the staff at villa. But looks a great asset to have at the club for the future IMO

dudevillaisnice
I'd thought if they wanted to sack him they would've done so when they dealt with the other two associated with him. If we stay up or go down he will at the very least see out the season from here on I think, they have essentially taken a gamble imo and are just hoping it pays off. Mendi
Time will tell if we get a new manager. I for once know Lambert will still be here unless we protest and it turns ugly. Edited April 15, 2014 by Mendi
smetrov
Well the Odds have been updated and 2nd favourite is now Chris Hughton !!!! My Albion supporting mate, reckons he spoke to Steve Clarke a few weeks after his dismissal - he was quite philosophical - and enjoys being a coach more than a manager (i know he was head coach at wba - but you get what he means) - Clarke said he could have walked into a top coaching job days after leaving WBA - but the terms of his WBA departure (gardening leave ?) have stopped this - given todays events I wonder if he might join us in the summer as part of the coaching staff......?

Really ? - i See us getting another 4pt tops - and Lambert moving on pretty swiftly after the season ends.......only Gus Poyet is more likley to leave his job according to the bookies.... Bookies odds mean very little. Lambert was at 30/1 before all this stuff happened with his coaches, but as has already been established that doesn't really mean it's more likely he's going to leave. Lambert isn't suddenly 10 times more likely to leave than he was 48 hours ago - it's just people reacting to news of the dismissal of Culverhouse and Karsa yet by the looks of things that wasn't a case of the board going over his head but rather them cooperating with him in. Why is it "almost nailed on"?
sharkyvilla
I hope we don't sack him unless there is 100% nailed on someone available who can do a better job on the kind of budget. Steve Clarke is probably the only person I would feel comfortable with over the long and short term, why West Brom sacked him is beyond me. I still think this was at least a 5 transfer window job so would give Lambert until Christmas, unless there is a miracle takeover from a multi-billionaire. It's a small market and it doesn't take much to move the odds. Edit: plus this type of news is always going to shorten the odds. It doesn't necessarily mean the bookies now anything.
