I don't know, but doens't then the question become: did he gain an advantage from being in offside position? IMO yes he did.

I just had this exact conversation.

3 men offside, they don't come back onside. so surely they're gaining an advantage from being there.

although I think the goal would be given all day it should be offside for me.

When the ball was played Neymar was clearly onside that's all that matters for that rule. Doesn't matter that he was offside for the initial pass as he was no where near the ball and not interfering with play. Basic rule of offside.

With a better ref game would be long over.

City playing well, even though it should be 2-0 to Barca....refs getting it all wrong it in the first half. If they can figure out a way to get Aguero involved, they could pull off a miracle here.

At the time of the initial initial through pass Neymar was offside, and he never got back into an onside position.

From "The laws of the game" by fifa

A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball

touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee,

involved in active play by:

• interfering with play or

• interfering with an opponent or

• gaining an advantage by being in that position
