alreadyexists Posted September 1, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted September 1, 2014 Well that's the end of that. Not a bad window overall, certainly a stronger squad, just could've been stronger still of we'd added a couple more.
samjp26
To be honest I was kinda hoping he was reading this thread so he'd get his hopes up. Prick.
CVByrne
2 defenders signed, Hutton back in the team and playing well, Okore almost back too so no more Baker/Clarke. Three midfielders signed and N'Zogbia back in the fold too. First team massively improved as has the squad. Vlaar stayed, would have loved a right winger too but overall a very good window.
LordSepulchrave
Overall been a decent window, doesn't look like we've made any real missteps and we've addressed issues with our squad. Hopefully there should be a little left in the pot for a quality player to be brought in during the winter window.
villaglint
Not knocking the club boyangel, just saying if I had £8m to spend which is over 70% of overall budget if have made sure I spent it in alloted time and not left it so late with all my eggs in one basket.
B94villa
Signing Cleverly now would be genuinely hilarious. I can't think of a worse way to start at a new club.
dAVe80
It's BS, but if we did get an extension, I'd offer him half the original wages.
DeadlyDirk
Hopefully the deadline extension is rubbish, and this whole episode will probably put a massive dent in the lads career, he's shown himself up to be a money grabbing mercenary... Most top and mid table clubs will now steer clear.
McGrath1874
Maybe if we keep these funds for January it could prove more useful should we get any serious injuries

I agree but we targeted a player working under a new manager - this probably took longer to arrange as we were waiting to see whether LVG wanted Cleverley or not. ManUre have conducted the majority of their transfers late on this window. Hopefully the same amount (and more) will be available January

DCJonah
Did we put in a late bid for dempsey and then spent little the following january? I don't see big funds being made available next window.
flamingsombrero
We have kept who we needed to keep and made some truly horrendous signings that have so far proved that us lot on here haven't got a **** clue. Not bad at all.

maqroll
Sadly, fees and wages go up in January as desperate clubs have less wiggle room in negotiations.
