The Howard Hodgson report on our club

Bit chilling. Buy into the Lerner/Faulkner/Lambert "vision" or be cast out of the favoured inner circle.

Was surprised to read about such mildly thuggish behaviour.

A bit surprised by this also. But would there be an element of exaggeration in this chap Hodgson's account of what happened?

Looks like HH wants a place on the board in the near future.

Why ? He's a fan like me and you expressing his concerns about the mismanagement of the club (think we'd all agree it's been a shambles for years).

He had a route into Faulkner and he used it. Nothing wrong with that

I agree. But it is hardly a "report" on the club, it does not reveal anything we did not already know and it does come across as arrogant with a lot of conjecture thrown in. Why not publish the letter he sent to Lerner?

I agree that if Hodgson is going to quote Faulkner's reaction to the letter.

“What were you trying to achieve in writing this letter to the owner? The manager has seen it and is not happy. We would not want you to outlast your welcome here, Howard.”

Then he should at least publish the letter itself so we can judge better, although It seems an incredibly harsh thing for Faulkner to say.

Howard Hodgson may not be to everyone's taste but at the end of the day he is a fan/customer who spends a lot of money at the club. As a season ticket holder I feel I have the right to voice my opinion at games so I think its bad he's been removed from the directors area.

We'll see. If the manager is properly backed this summer - and that includes being able to sign players on Premiership wages - I will be able to accept the last few years (McLeish aside) as a necessary evil for us to build sustainably. No excuses though. If we're still shopping in bargain basement then Lerner, for me, has to go.

Based on this and what John Lerwill has said, the brass at VP behave like thugs, and it's very worrisome. The early days P.R. push was just smoke and mirrors designed to flatter and deflect any future criticism.

We are run by a group of inept thugs who are drunk with power.

Shameful state of affairs.

I don't think 4 years of relegation worries, woeful football and record lows is worth it even if we increase our spending.

It didn't have to be this way

A reasonable summary, although I am surprised that such a dedicated supporter doesn't know who signed Ireland.

Good that it focuses on Lambert, the most inept manager that we have ever had.

Interesting that he sees Levy as a 'football man'. I'd be interested to know his opinion as to the point when Levy went from being a Faulkner like person to a 'football man'

Getting excluded from the Director's area is no big deal and no surprise. If you walk into someone's house and shit on their lounge carpet, then you can hardly be expected to be offered a seat and a cup of tea.

And Randy Lerner reads Twitter, apparently. Might be useful for some of the more outraged.

Howard Hodgson was socialising with these "thugs" only a few weeks ago, what has changed? Interesting.
