Where has the progress gone?

Can someone answer the question above. We had as good as a full strength team out today and the tactics, player form was baffling. Surely its down to the coaching, I mean this team should be pushing on now from the form we showed from the end of last season begining of this. Im just purely shocked how poor we are looking lately, like everything we have learnt has disappeared. Where is the form of Benteke, Gabby, Wiemann gone. Lambert and his coaching staff are the only people who can improve this team and at the moment im seeing nothing. First half today was ok, second half everyone seemed half arsed why is this, whats involved in a Lambert team talk?????

I'm sure villacas will have a graph to show progress.

In reality there is no progress anymore. The defence looks better but our attack looks worse and the football is shocking. We will end up with roughly the same points as last year and probably the worst league home form in the history of the club.

The progress is another line spun by the club. As always progress should be measured at the END, not in the January window as an attempt to calm those who can see we need to spend.

Spin, spun, spin... Lerner is Rumpelstiltskin and the club pricked it's finger.

I think the progress is actually barely if at all visible. The only thing i can see is we do look less likely to get hammered week in week out but what is the use in that if it comes at the cost of having no goal scoring threat and losing the games anyway?

I remember listening to Weimann after the Baggies win the other week and he stated "We know we can score goals".....REALLY! Where are they then? We average less than 1 a game!

I don't quite get what is happening at this shambles of a football club at present, 1 point from games against 3 of the worst teams in the division in West Ham, Cardiff and a shockingly devoid of confidence Newcastle side is frankly the sign of a relegation candidate... We are supposedly this great team away from home based again on a couple of results at Arsenal on opening day, a half game performance at Anfield and lucky win at Southampton...We really ain't that good away from home it's just we are so abysmal at home it makes the away from look ok by comparison!

As for our home form? I mean we are absolutely clueless and i fear for us in any game at Villa Park... we are a disaster waiting to happen  as we saw against Palace, West Ham, Sheff Utd and well lets face it pretty much any team.

There will be no progress with the Lambert/Lerner **** show.

Lerner is an absent, disinterested owner who won't give his manager the funds to compete.

Lambert is an inept, clueless, pathetically out-of-his-depth manager who will do his master's bidding so he gets a nice payoff.

Its a self-fulfilling prophecy that will see us relegated.

There's been no progress...I think we can all agree now. The last 3 transfer windows have been awful, and the young players haven't kicked on.

Yes, a massive gamble based on buying young and saving money - don't let the club kid you - this has been a penny pinching exercise from an owner who wants to strangle as much as possible and spend a pittance. A massive gamble that will continue if (when?) we go down as we won't be able to afford that either!

Bit of an over reaction.

We have stood still while shedding more high earners.

The only place we have progressed is off the pitch, but the season isn't over yet, its February.

Stood still as others overtake, which means the work off the pitch will be meaningless - if - or when we go down.

We cannot keep ilusing it as an excuse. We will go down. We are failing.

I honestly don't believe that, we have regressed from last season, ladt season we weren't that bad, individual errors were our undoing, we went into games full of it, attacking with intent & power, that is missing this season, turgid dour football is what we do now, hoping to hit teams on the counter is not progress.

Ridiculous. We were better for parts of last season no doubt about it but we were also worse for some parts as well.

We are slowly getting worse. There has been no progress. Sure he's shifted high earners, but i'm giving him no brownie points as any person could do that.

Yeah the balance sheet of the Lerner family trust will look great when Brentford come rolling in to town.

Yeah that Holte Pub will look great when Brentford come rolling in to town.

On the plus point, we are already good at scouting lower league players.
