Isn't he like a top drawer manager ?

And apparently a complete arsehole.

"While in charge of Wolfsburg during a training camp in July 2008 in Switzerland Magath declared after a team lunch that training would be canceled for the day. Instead the players would be rewarded with coffee and cake at a nearby location with the provision that the players retain their training attire just in case. As the players prepared to board the gondola that took them up the mountain to the coffee house their delight was soon replaced with horror as Magath told them they would get there by running the full 2362 meters. They ran for two and a half hours straight up the hill with Magath running right behind the team. Their star striker Grafite collapsed before the end and had to be carried down the valley on a stretcher while other players broke down in tears as they reached the summit where they were finally able to enjoy their coffee and cake."

Perhaps he will make them swim the Thames to get to training :P

The issue for Fulham is that the ambitionless, lazy Martin jol left them with a woeful squad. Magaths about as good as you can find for a short term option, but besides holtby and mitroglu, they really lack quality.

Jol got them 9th and 12th in his 2 seasons at Fulham and I doubt they would be in trouble now if he was still at the Cottage. But you think eventually Fulham will go down and this could be the season. I wonder how much of their west london support can be bothered to watch their favourite second team in the Championship? 15,000?

Doesn't sound too different from army training tbh.

Except he's training world-class athletes and not soldiers.

I assume Felix Magath is better than Lambert even though he’s never managed in the premier league?

Anyone said that yet?

Pep Guardiola hasn't managed in the prem yet either. Edited by dodgyknees

3 wins in 12 at fulham, come on is it really that big of a result going to old trafford and getting something? They had 11 men literally behind the ball all game and pinched a 95th minute equaliser it was shocking.

The owners are clueless and stupid though, why give someone the licence to bring players in if you dont have total faith and could sack him at any moment anyway? They will be another blackburn.

Last chance saloon for Fulham. With their wage bill and aging squad they will be fooked in the championship. Don't think this will work but you never know....

Nah, they have got a couple of other managers in them before May!

I don't really know if the owners are stupid. Jol was dreadful, and Meulensteen was doing a poor job. They probably weren't his transfers, isn't curbishley or someone sort of a director of football there? Anyway, Khan isn't nearly the Venkys.

There was a very good article on football 365 when khan took over from someone who claimed to have a source at the club, basically said that khan had no intentions of putting money into the club & intended to run it on a budget to reap the profit off the new tv deal

There are a hell of a lot more owners out there looking to bleed a club for money then there are owners who are willing to sink the fortune of a small nation on a club just to win a few football trophies.

If Lerner sells up the odds say well will get a worse manager taking over.
