Valentines Day

She's getting a fry up in bed, a card, a cupcake and a single rose.

As much as she likes to think that she isn't the type that 'needs' Valentines, she buys into it just enough that she would be gutted if I did nothing. I think it's a waste of paper and hugely false, but you've got to be tactical.

Somewhere along the line, Valentines Day became almost completely about the women, and pleasing them. Seems like they just sit back and let the guys sweat it out, running around trying to do this, get that, reserve this, etc. And be original. Or traditional. Or both. Just don't screw it up.

None of this applies to me personally however, because I'm happily single :D

And if I did have a girlfriend, she'd have to view this holiday with the same level of contempt that I do!

I don't agree that's it's almost completely about the women. I go to a lot of effort for Valentines Day.

My boyfriend and I are moving in together in a few months & I've had a graphic designer make a house filled with lots of words that mean something to us & I've printed it and had it framed.

It's about everyone making an effort.

Whats romantic about being forced to be romantic at the whim of card manufacturers?

Generally men think of Valentines Day as a chore, generally women are the ones who get the hump if its forgotten or they aren't satisfied with the outcome of the day.

Totally bogus day

Ahh, the traditional response of someone who wants a reason to not have to do it. "I know! Let's get mad at the commercialism of it." or "Why do I need to be told when to do it" or "I do it at other times of the year" - which is the most ironic, because the people who say that are the ones that never do.

Why not join it with it? Guess what, you might enjoy it.

I can imagine you presenting that to him while he's watching TV, and him not taking his eyes off the TV, and just saying "yeah, that's lovely love.." before changing channels and never thinking or looking at it again.

You should have got him a big picture of your boobies.

Here it is. :D

(The white spaces are just where I've blocked out a few words that had my home address in.)

I'm totally down with:

Real Ale

Pub crawl with parents (her old man is a staunch CAMRA-ist, and so am I)

Dancing in the kitchen, or just dancing in general. (I do a fantastic, funky, North Korean military march)

Road Trips

And probably the love and happiness bit, but that's a bit 'ghey' for a football forum.
