Wrong tactics. Awful from Lambert today.

 

We were winning for 75 minutes, tactics were not that bad!

 

He tried to change it but Everton are a good team ATM.

 

 

 

We had a shot on target in 90 minutes. We held on to the lead well, but anyone could see what was coming.

Thought we were solid defensively and tactics were spot on, first half especially. If it wasn't for one mistake and a world class free kick, we would have won.

 

Although Holt didn't do much, I really think his sub changed the game. Having him on made Everton's CBs focus on both him and Tekkers, giving Tekkere space and time to hold it up, without him we got crowded out when we tried to go forward.

 

Ref was poor all game, did whatever the Everton fans wanted him to do in the second half.

What frustrates me is our complete inability to hold onto the ball. Same happened in the second half against WBA.

Awful performance. 29% of possession against a side that has enough quality.. they were always going to break us down.

 

Holt did nothing. Dont see what he did that say Helenius could have done.

 

5 at the back against no recognised strikers.... sat back all game.. boring and we lose. We may as well go guns blazing and lose 4-3 and enjoy ourselves. Rubbish negative football and tactics.

taking vlaar off for albrighton cost us a point. Reminiscent of Oneill when we'd take a lead early and then always sit back without attacking. surprise surprise  we then concede against a good team twice. deserved result.

Tactics worked first half where we were breaking up play and stopping Everton building sustained pressure, but in the 2nd just sat deeper and deeper, and couldn't keep any possession to release pressure. equaliser was inevitable. winner wasn't inevitable, but not hugely surprising either. Ref giving lots of soft home free kicks all game didn't help and co-commentators match-long Everton fellatio was highly irritating.

Happy until Vlaar went off as soon as the two CB were left together I knew we would go behind and until he returns, that 30 point tally that was in reach at half time might be a long time coming. Baker and Clark alone together means a big step backwards.

Thought we deserved a draw and Everton didn't create too much and won with a wonder goal.  I'm guessing Vlaar had to of been injured as their is no way he would of been taking off otherwise.  Hard one to take but that's the way it goes sometimes.
