Totally deserved defeat. And a damaging one if Vlaar is out for a while ffs

If he was injured he'd have gone back to the changing room, not sat straight down on the bench.

Looked like a tactical substitution to me. And I use the word 'tactical' quite wrongly.

This place is going to be horrendous tonight.

First half tactics spot on, second half tactics wrong.

Bacuna MOTM.

Yup, I'm off, will leave the Lambert bashing brigade to it.

Do hope Vlaar isn't injured though, great performance from Bacuna getting a good goal and keeping Baines in his pocket the entire match.

Should have changed up in 2nd half. They were picking up every clearance and outplaying us. Cannot really fault any of the players, but a failure to change up saw us drop to deep and chasing shadows. Thought Bertrand did really well.

why did we go into that game trying to defend when most of their key players were out?

Lambert doesn't seem to understand that letting a team have all the attacking possession for 90 mins will never pay off.

We made Everton look good when they weren't

I just don't understand his mindset.

I could live with the team selection, and even with the approach of playing for a draw, but the Vlaar substitution was bizarre, unless he is injured. Don't understand why he would take him off.

Fair play to Everton, they are much much better than us. Never stopped playing football and played patiently for their chance.

In the end we were undone by a great free-kick.

Not sure what Lambert was trying to do today, a point or 3 would have been areal bonus ahead of the next few games.
