villa-revolution
Got to hand it to football fans with their great sense of occasion, though sometimes wicked & cruel sense of humour at matches & we at Villa Park are up there with the best of them when it comes to takin' the proverbials & dishin' it out. I distinctly remember when the Holte End ripped the piss out of Nottingham Forest's Jason Lee mercilessly because of his bizarre hairstyle once, by constantly singing throughout the game that, "He's got a pineapple on his head." Then there was the time when it looked like `Arry` was going down for tax evasion (allegedly) & the Villa fan's chanted constantly that he was getting "******" In The Showers" Hilarious. I know Redknapp wasn't happy about it at the time, but all's fair in love & football IMO, especially when your sole motive is to just try to get under the skin of the opposition to unsettle them & at least he's man enough to take it. Then there's poor old FSW Rafa Benitez who always get's it in the neck from us, every single time he shows up at Villa park, though I do recall him cleverly corrupting that chant once in an after match interview when he claimed we were apparently chanting at a Liverpool player instead. Nice get out Rafa. Ha ha Then there was that delightful 6-1 thrashing of the Mackems last season with Benteke helping himself to a hat trick & we started stroking the ball around mercilessy as the Holte rejoiced with a rendition of, "We're takin' the piss, we're takin' the piss, we're Aston Villa, we're takin' the piss." Loved that one. But it's not all about humour either. Many players have their own unique songs dedicated to them by us fans out of our sheer love & affection that we genuinely have for them, when they constantly do the business for us in the sacred claret & blue shirt. "Ooh Aah Paul McGrath!" being a prime example. That leads me very nicely to a song that I loved the Holte End singing in honour of one of former players, though I have to admit that I don't particularly like that player anymore & for obvious reasons which many of you will no doubt share? That said, who could argue that the "Dwight Yorke, Dwight Yorke" (New York, New York) song wasn't the best to come from the throngs of the Holte End over the years, of which my favourite rendition of it was when we played Leeds off the Park at Wembley in 1996. Yeah the game when Savo smashed one in from Wembley Central. So how about you? What's the best terrace song or funniest chant you've ever heard whilst following our heroes? ClaretFondu
When we do the rugby chant when we're winning by loads - like against Sunderland last season, absolutely hilarious! And because I am addicted to the song "just can't get enough" - when we sing it for weimann it's really catchy and one of my favourite!
myko
That Redknapp one had me in absolute hysterics, easily the funniest chant I've ever witnessed first hand!
benireduk
Really liked the Dwight Yorke song. It's was totally unique and original. Singing it at Wembley after we'd thrashed Leeds was brilliant.
Popular Post KjParton
I bloody loved "Itchy Scalp M'Lord" or "Shall we scratch your head for you!" aimed at Joe Hart as he was keeping at the Holte End.

AValon
I remember the day we gave it poor old Jason Lee. He let it get to him so much you could visibly see his shoulders drop every time the song rang out and his game was absolutely shot. Don't even remember much of the game itself, it was that hilarious.

8pints
It may sound trite but "Villa, Villa, Villa etc" is my favourite chant. I remember being in the middle of the crowd at my first game when I was six, standing on the Holte with my Dad, overawed by all the people who surrounded me when suddenly they all stretch out their hands over their heads and, at the top of their lungs sing out "Villa, Villa, Villa". It gave me goosebumps and what's more the straight forwardness and simplicity of the song meant I could join in as quick as that. There I was five minutes in to my first ever game before a ball had been kicked singing along with forty thousand people instantly feeling like I belonged. Even now, when enough people get in to it, the chant makes my hairs stand on end. "There's only one Villa" as well for similar reasons. Because there is only one Villa and that makes me proud to be a part of it...Don't be coming to me with villareal, that's one word so doesn't count...So no to Red Bull haha. I read this back and it sounds like indoctrination which I guess it is.

VillakevBromsgrove
I remember very many moons ago when Peter Shilton came to Villa after his affair became public, the shouts of Tina, Tina Tina was hilarious and it really got to him, if I remember even the press picked up on it.
