With Gabby's early miss and Clark hitting the post, we should've won here tonight.

Suarez has conned the ref hugely once more.

Bertrand looked great at LB, and we can only assume that a combination of tiredness and a yellow saw him subbed.

For Holt moaning at Holt, as if to prove a point as it seems to be the same that were so vocal when we signed him, it's not his fault that he's not Gabby.  Probably came on earlier than he expected, and did alright. Fluffed his lines, but also showed some neat trickery with the back heel too.  He shouldn't be a focal point of this game!

Well proud of the lads - played some lovely stuff and should be coming away with 3 points.

Everyone played well - proving that they can to those of their own support who say they cannot.

Awful bias in Commentary - I agree wit hthose that have Liverpool as their Number One dislike Club - how did Sterling not get booked ?   Where was protection for CB ?

Almost shared possession for those who think we cant do that either - with a lot of it in their half.

I know it is only 1 point and 1 game but all round a lot to be happy about and hopefully persuades a few we aren't the car crash they think ?

I'd have taken a draw with both hands, but feel gutted to not have all three.  We were noticeably poorer when Gabby went off, he really did run them ragged first half.

All in all, a very good display.  The Chelsea lad showed just how poor Luna is by looking a huge improvement in his first game.  Vlaar was immense, but Bacuna's decision making is dodgy as anything.

  • 01 Guzan - 6/10. It was a dive yes but he should never have made that tackle. OK otherwise
  • 07 Bacuna - 4/10 questionable all game Booked
  • 23 Bertrand - 7/10 solid debut, such an improvement on Luna and adds a lot of balance to our team which improves our game as a whole. 1 or 2 bad tackles through trying to impress Booked (Luna - 81' )
  • 15 Westwood - 5/10 didn't notice anything he did other than one volley right at the keeper
  • 04 Vlaar - 9/10 just a beast. We're nothing without him
  • 06 Clark - 7/10 some important tackles and solid alongside Vlaar but at fault for the first goal Booked
  • 08 El Ahmadi - 3/10 terrible player Booked (Sylla - 62' )
  • 16 Delph - 5/10 didn't notice him
  • 20 Benteke - 7/10 still a bit lethargic, but got the goal and he has so much more vision than the rest of the team
  • 10 Weimann - 6/10 got a goal but other than that he was still very much Andi Weimann The New
  • 11 Agbonlahor (Holt - 49' ) - 8/10 we changed when he went off. He is such an important player to us

Holt - 7/10 did a fine job, chased the ball and brought others into the game. Absolutely doesn't deserve the abuse he gets

Sylla - 2/10 awful. Not a footballer. No talent whatsoever.

Luna - not much time

Sylla and KEA probably shouldn't be first team players, but we work with what we have.

Could have won, could have lost; at the end can't be happy or sad with a draw really.

That dive though...

I though KEA played well in the first half. He is at his best when we move the ball quickly though.

He wasn't terrible, was actually looking suspiciously like an attacking mid', but there were plenty of times he just didn't react quick enough and couldn't make use of chances. Even during his better first half he wasn't convincing enough to really justify his place.

He doesn't do any job in midfield to a high enough level to justify a place. He did do a lot better than Sylla though.

game changed when gabby went off, so did our style of play

then resorting to our normal crap play

we deserved to get all 3 points but as soon as holt comes on, we cant do anything, no pace, nothing to offer really, did the odd flick but cant run and heading means he needs to get off the ground.

first half everyone gets a decent 8

second half was a different story, gabby injured and panic sets in

ref? really don't know how he can get away with that second half performance

every 50/50 goes to the scum, every 60/40 to us goes to the scum

no doubt bbc will be creaming over the skill of suarez diving and say It is the keepers fault for making refs make a decision

Untrue, unnecessary - can't you see Liverpool had the advantage of a goal before half time and a penalty, and are a good side ?   Losing Gabby did affect us but to say we then played crap - well I can't understand it at all.

In any event much of our play away from home has been effective - you'd get nothing in this League if you were crap.

Totally agree with you about the Ref though.

Would have taken a point before the match but to draw in those circumstances hurts.

Benteke, Gabby and Vlaar were excellent.

Sylla has gone backwards this season and I'm still not sure what KEA brings to the team. And the ref was a knob.

Great first half, but as many as said Gabby's injured took away our attacking threat. Holt did okay, but felt Albrighton would have been better coming on. Holt didn't have the legs to chase back, so Lambert had to pull Benteke to the left.

Defense looked better, but looked very suspect when Luna came on.

Very happy with a point, but sad about the dive. Ref got it wrong, but we would have probably said a pen if one of our players had gone down like that.

Lambert got his tactics right today, and I haven't said that much this season. Well done one and all.

Great result despite the fact that we were 2 up.  Thought Holt did good when he came on,really put himself about and a really nice back heel for Delph that gave us our most dangerous attack in the second half.  Thought Vlaar, Beasteke, Gabby, Bertrand, Goose and Westwood were our best players.  Sylla looks like he is kicking a rugby ball and Bacuna went to shit in the second half.

Gabby MOTM and credit to the manager for getting things spot on, just a pity Gabby had to go off.

Big difference when we don't sit back and wait for teams to attack us. Almost every other match we've played this season we've sat and waited for them to attack us surrendering possession. This match we played a very high line defending from the front. Lots of the match was played in Liverpool's half them struggling to pass it out and us robbing them of possession. We'll get the usual cliched "classic counter attacking performance" but we are the team who played on the front foot.

We were superb first half, had Clark's header gone in and we'd gone in 3-1 up at half time we'd have probably won it. Looked a dive for the penalty too. Not sure why KEA is getting bashed so badly, he was important for us int eh first half, his pressing was incredible.

Best thing abotu it is we still have a few players who need to find the form from end of last season so we can get better even than that first half performance. Win today would have been huge for so many reasons but a draw away at Anfield is not to be sniffed and we can take tons of positives from the first half.
