Excellent fighting spirit by Bacuna and a decent second-half performance all round, even if Arsenal took their foot off.

I wish Lowton could defend as well as he crosses the ball.

Yes no way do i want Bacuna to go back to fullback, he's much better in midfield

Second half did show a dramatic improvement, epitomised by the performance of Bacuna, who actually wanted the ball and made things happen. Other big pluses included Vlaar being back and Benteke scoring. Arsenal did drop off though and allow us a chance back into the match. At least we showed a bit of fight and it wasn't just another meek performance where we just wilt but coming back from 2 goals down is just too much to ask.

Hopefully players will gain a little confidence from this as it is an improvement. Can't fathom why he wouldn't chuck Helenius on though?

A poor first half with the team set up far too defensive and with no support to the strikers.

A much better ending to the game and pleased Benteke scored. Thought Vlaar, Bacuna, Lowton (2nd half) and Weimann did well.

We need to take the positives into the next game and actually go and attack Liverpool!

Hard to say much really as we only played half decent when Arsenal sat back.. We got a decent goal and great to see Benteke score of course. But it's easy to be good when the other team are sat on the beach coz it's gotten too easy for them.  Delph lost us that game though with his ridiculous over elaboration on the ball which cost the second goal..badly missed a really good chance too. Him and Lowton were the worst culprits at giving the ball away in very dangerous positions although Vlaar had a go too. Man of the match for me though despite that was indeed Vlaar.

Also thought Weimann changed the game when he came on so hopefully being benched will be the kick up his arse he needed and with Benteke scoring it may have been a good game for us after all despite the self inflicted defeat.

Guzan 6

Lowton defending 3 attacking 8 nice crossing

Luna 3 he really doesn't know what he is doing

Vlaar 10 concrete

Clark 8 solid

El Ahmadi 4 chasing shadows

Delph 5 wasted a lot of possession

Westwood 4 see El Ahmadi

Bacuna 7 did well, strong

Gabby 5 poor game intelligence, put himself about

Benteke 5 didn't look interested until goal

Baker- 4 really bad performance managed to miskick the ball two times before getting injured (he is not good enough)

Considering most of us were worried about our goal difference, we did alright tonight. 2 minutes of really sloppiness in the first half lost us the game.

Luna's positional sense infuriated me throughout the game, but thought Vlaar and Clark together looked good again.

Lowton has a great delivery on him, even if he is a bit suspect defensively.  Weimann looked alright when he came on - and I was surprised he even came on ahead of Helenius or Albrighton.

Benteke has hopefully got some confidence back, but could've / should've scored another with that second header.

Onward to the Liverpool game with lots to take from that second half.

Players get confidence when the team has the ball, which leads to sustained pressure, which often leads to clearances from the other team, yet more ball and more confidence. Which is why the idiotic hoof tactic imo is the most devastating tactic there is - for the team applying it.

The Belgian beast is back.

Arsenal have an incredible away record.

They may have sat back but don't take anything away from the lads.

Shite in the first but they showed some fight. Let's hope they come away feeling positive as god knows we need it over the next few weeks.
