Wes Hoolahan

Buying a 31 going to be soon 32 yr old with less than 2 season experience in the top flight does not get me really excited. File under stop gap and underwhelming. The 2010's version of Mark Kinsella, apparently now a Villa legend when he plays that shitty 5 a side they have in the MEN Arena.

It doesn't set my pulse racing either, but it's hard to deny he's EXACTLY the kind of player we need to link midfield and attack. So as far as i'm concerned GET HIM IN

Whether it's Hoolahan for 3m or some fancy foreign bloke i've never heard of for more. At least the glaringly obvious hole in our team has been noticed at long last by Lambert.

I'm incredibly glad he's gone from "number 10? attacking midfielder? no I don't think we're short there, I've got Weimann etc who can play off the striker" in September to "we desperately need a specialist number 10" in January.

Kendrick does my head in. He's an absolute puppet of the club.

He's like hairyhands in many ways in that he breaks news just before the club does. Personally I find that Matt Kendrick and James Nursey are the only people on Twitter worth listening to.

The way Kendrick was criticizing Lambert after the Sheffield game I don't think you can call him a puppet, and he was banned from the pressers last year by Lambert for a spell for asking some critical questions last season

He's a Villa correspondant for a local paper, if he doesn't play by the rules and keep the club sweet then he loses his job. What do you expect?

If you don't like his stuff then don't read it, simple as, but he's one of the only sources you can trust for news on us.

"I have Wes Hoolahan scoop (the truth) from 10pm ish" - Mick Dennis (The Express, 5 Live, former Norwich City correspondent).[/quote

He's a Norwich City ambassador and supporters club president......what are the odds it won't portray us and/ or the player in a very good light ?

They'll hate Hughton if he sells judging by Twitter.

Yeah I've seen quite a few of them going mental and saying Hughton needs sacking for even contemplating selling him. On the other hand there are many who reckon they'd snap Lambert's hand off for £1.5m.

Doesn't seem to be any middle ground, 10pm should be fun.

I don't get why they hate Lambert. He got them promoted to prem league in two consecutive years and then kept them in it. Just showed he was right to leave the ungrateful lot

EXCLUSIVE: Norwich set to reject Wes Hoolahan bid from Aston Villa NORWICH will reject a “derisory” offer from Aston Villa for Wes Hoolahan - and if the Republic of Ireland international makes a transfer request, it will be rejected.

Villa manager Paul Lambert was Hoolahan's boss at Norwich and wants him again, but Villa offered only £750,000 in immediate cash for the 31-year-old playmaker or £1million in instalments.

Norwich responded by telling Villa officials they won't even talk to them until after next week's transfer tribunal for another of their players who rejoined Lambert - reserve goalkeeper Jed Steer.

Privately, Norwich insiders regard the Hoolahan bid as almost insulting and have no wish to do business with either Lambert or Villa because of bad blood over the way the Scot manager left them after lifting them 54 places in three seasons.

Hoolahan would welcome the chance to join Villa, because they are offering a longer deal than his current Norwich contract, which has 18 months to run.

But the Norfolk club are determined to keep him. He has made 11 appearances for Norwich this season and has started their last two Premier League matches.

Well, any thought of Defour is now out of the window :D
